Life is short. Waste it wisely.
Fixed it! Changed the transmission kit to wishbones and now it flies!!!!! 1 hour of bashing with a 10.5 brushless and still seems to be going well! Hope it lasts.......

THe axles are not T bone shape but have a hexagonal shape at the end so its rounded off. I don't know if that was clear...... Anyway I ordered new axles and hubs (t bone this time) and will install a 10.5 engine and voila that should do the trick! Will let you know!
The hex axles wear out fairly quickly, I believe - not the greatest of designs. I remember on my Fox that they used to go very regularly (even with the standard 540 motor) which is why I upgraded to the dogbone set-up - much longer lasting....
If you are putting a brushless you must get the Tamiya CVD kit for the FROG.
The Dog bone in the re re are crap in my opinion. Ok for stock motor but they fall out easy i found. All my Frogs have the CVD HOP UP. Well worth it.
My mate has a stock Fox with a Z Run 5.5 brushless and is just insane. Gearbox hols up just fine. His trick. New gears with a little ceramic grease on the gears.

Wow, that's a powerful motor for a Fox. How does it handle at such speed? Has your friend made any adjustments to the set-up or is it otherwise fairly stock?
No stock as a rock. Replaced the rubber boots on the drive shafts to some 8th scale shock boots. A lot freer in the drive train.
A wheelie bar. Thats it. The Speedie sits up on the chassis where the driver is with the window on the sheel cut out to help cooling. No oil in the shocks. Just insane. Biggest pinion too.
