RC10T VONATS 2009 AND 2010 ENTRY

Post by MIKE VALENTINE »

Hi, this is the RC10T I raced last year and plan to race again this year in the Vintage Offroad Nationals. Alot of this truck is original parts I used to race with in the early 90's. I have also made a rear shock tower due to not being able to find a body that would fit on sort notice, So iused a T2 body. I also updated an old steering idea I had after seeing masami run his servo saver running left to right instead of the original way. I also made a battery hold down since I broke my other one in practice one day (hard hit don't really want to remeber it, bent the chassis also). I have taken the electrics out of the truck for other projects but will upgrade to brushless this year. They wasn't to many guys running brushed motors last year.

Great custom work, I like the battery holder and bellcranks. You can do a similar bellcrank conversion using the B2/B3/T3 bellcranks, which have the same geometry as the T2/GT cranks.

The bellcranks pictured have the same geometry as the original RC10T, besides the servo position. I was kicking around the idea of making more battery hold downs.

Neat truck, I like the bell cranks! Who made them? Did you?

Get a nice carbon fiber front tower to match, get rid of that plastic one! You can still get them!

Yes, I made the bellcranks. I had a similiar set made in 94 ish and run them at that time. Then last year before the Vintage Nats I couldn't find them. The truck was in pieces so i made those in the pictures, they are much more durable then the parts I made 15 years ago.

Thanks, i didn't know they front carbon shock towers were still available, I'll have to pick one up.

Erich, If you would stop moving and stay in one place for more than a week, I would stop over. Give me a ring when you get a chance. MV

Looks like the truck needs some work this year. It doesn't seem to handle the new track layout as well as last year.
