Did the previous owner think at all when he painted it brown?

Looking forward to your resto, Paul. However, to be honest--the Ultima's decal set has to be one of the ugliest color combos ever. What were Kyosho thinking? "Let's use peanut butter & banana sandwich for the new Ultima color scheme!" Urgh...if it were me back in the 80's, if I built an Ultima, I probably wouldn't even have used the main decals, instead I might've gone with a red-and-something paint scheme emphasizing the red shocks...or used an X-acto to remove the brown parts from the decals.

Since the decals have a lot of brown, who can fault the kid for painting it brown? At any rate, it *does* look better with white.

Green and red? Nice! Too bad you didn't finish that before Christmas, green & red is the perfect Christmas color combo! It would look like a candy-cane.

ok so im not so keen on the kyosho 1/10 racer decal so that will be coming off
but almost finished a little filling to do when the paint gets hard

so after looking at the condition of my ultima pro and ultima II ive decided to treat them to a marwan body and decal set
seems only fair getting some new duds for one amigo and not the other two will only cause trouble in the ultima camp
