Re: Jamin's Losi XX-CR Kinwald old/new rebuild
Finally found a set of new clear wheel discs, front and rear on eBay. Fronts were easy to find, but the rears were not, so happy that I managed to get some finally. I think I'll leave a set clear, and spray the other set fluo red for the orignal XX look.
Bodyshell as been roughly cut out, just need to sand the edges then I can start masking, I'll get some pics up soon.
I've also got a couple of small parts coming from states to make it a little more original, nothing exciting, but needed none the less.

I've used the original XX shell that it was released with - I have a new Jammin shell on its way too!mamadoesn`tletme wrote:I may have stickers.

Not sure what wing it is, might be from the XXX-CR kit, but its a losi and very similar to the one that came with the Kinwald kit.

Re: Jamin's Losi XX-CR Kinwald old/new rebuild
Cheers! I must of started it October time i think. I've replaced alot of parts on it though, the chassis & braces/rear bulkhead, gearbox and front tower and shock bodies are the only orignal items I think!GJW wrote:look's very good indeed! how long did it take you to restore it?
I've found bits mostly from eBay and other RC forums, half the fun is searching for parts!
I've ordered a few more parts today...just some minor bling!
I'd love to make this a runner, but its in such good condition it would be a shame to ruin it...maybe another project on the horizon then!

Re: Jamin's Losi XX-CR Kinwald old/new rebuild
I threw some paint on the shell tonight and added a few carefully chosen stickers, it could do with a few more, but overall I am happy. I'll take some better shots when I get the chance.
Hope you all like the result - I've still got a few more things to add to the car, including another body shell that arrived today, I'll post up about that later...

I'm not a big sticker lover, but that's a very eye-catching paint-job. I like how the yellow of the paint ties in nicely with the wheels. Nice work! Don't go overboard covering up that nice paint-job with too many decals.

Very cool looking build and paint job. Thanks for documenting your progress.
Now that you have a great looking painted body for this ride, keep up the momentum and get that Jammin' body painted up ... are you going to coordinate the Jammin' body with the wheel discs that you so painstakingly acquired?

Re: Jamin's Losi XX-CR Kinwald old/new rebuild
Thanks for the comments, and yes, the yellow is on there for exactly that reason! This is my 'signature' paint scheme now, nice and simple, but effective. I normally use grape purple at the rear, but metallic black is easier and I think it suits the car better - it shows off the blue parts, along with the nice shiny motor plate.Coelacanth wrote:I'm not a big sticker lover, but that's a very eye-catching paint-job. I've sprayed my XXXT-CR the same colours and that looks equally as effective - I'll have to take a shot of them together.
Cheers Rick!bearrickster wrote:looking very good.
This is my dilemna! I want to paint the discs neon red, but that wont go with the paint scheme at all, yellow will look too much like the XXX wheels, and I dont think black or white would work either, hmmm.shirochanwrx wrote:Very cool looking build and paint job.
