Wow that car just looks better and better!

One question I have - what wing is that and is that available somewhere? The design is just right for race cars of that era. Current wings are a tad too fancy. :)

DF02 CVD were used in the front of this car. They are a bit longer than the original. Under extreme suspension compression, it binds the joint cup a bit.

My solution was to elongate the joint cups pin slot by about 2.5mm. 8)

The photo showed right side being the original, the left side being the modified one.

With this mod, the CVD no longer binds

My hand 'feel' is that the joint cups are HARD!! and my hotshot will have super low mileage, no issue

nice! Is there a special purpose to the "M" shaped wing mount?

You bringing this little baby down to the vintage event for show-and-tell? :)

Excellent question Bloodclod

The 'M' in the wing stand is for adjustability. The distance between the wing mount was 39.5mm, I found it not so easy to bend a 2mm wire to that exact distance. Bend a 'M' allows some adjustability with my less than precision hands.

Bring the car for 'show and tell'?.....

That was EXACTLY what I was planning to do   , pending some last minute agenda from my boss (aka wife)

Years has passed. Now finally there is an upgrade for the gearbox!!!

Using polystyrene gearbox as stressed member in the chassis, designer(s) of the hotshot r genius! CNC aluminium replacements solved many of the mechanical strength issues!

The old plastic rear gearbox was ‘windowed’, same treatment for the new CNC gearbox.

This way, the alignment of the motor pinion & spur gear can be visual rather than blindly using the BD6 spacers 😁

The designers r genius, two highly stressed main gears r riding a plastic piece B7, which has the thinnest (easiest to break) section at 3mm… perfect to strip gears

time to upgrade that too.

Get:
A) 3mm shaft
B) washer
C) 4X8mm flanged bushing
D) metal tube with 3mm ID, 4mm OD

Cut to right length, bond together using red loctite= a rock solid piece!

Had it.

Too much play. Poor tolerance. Did not stay true. Way too much vibration. Did not work as it’s supposed to. Dislike it.

Sold it quickly 🙏
