86 RC10 Paired Up With What Novak ESC ??

Post by engr673 »

Hello!

I have a RC10 from 1986 that I am restoring and I have come across a few Novak Speed Controls but not sure which one adds the most value or does it not matter as they add about the same value?

I have come across a used Novak NESC-4 from 1985 and a new still in the package NESC-T4 from 1988. The Novak NESC-T1 is from 1986 but I can't find one of those anywhere.

Any thoughts on which one will add the most value? I would think the one from 86 would add the most value, then 85, and finally 88.

Thanks for the help!!

 send it to some one who would appreciate it, thatll add the most value to it.. some one enjoying it for what it is, and not the cash value on it.

Ebay. go look around. see wat esc is going for the most, then add it to your car. i honestly think radio gear is the last thing that will add "value " to an rc10. condition and originality & completeness is what counts the most on these things, and of course ,the right buyer.

hi! i'm a big fan of adding period electronics to car's as they bore me a little without them, mint car's with electrics are more appealing and do sell better if done well! without marking the car. id add that novak 4 to your rc10 just because it's older 8) the 4/t4 are economy model's where as the 1/t1 were the race model's, happy hunting and put some pics up. :)

I feel the same way! I don't plan on selling it, I got it for to good of a price and in to good of shape to ever sell it. I was not sure if the 3 I mentioned made a different since they were close.

I bought it from a guy that was the original owner. It was sitting in his basement since 86 so I had to do a little scrubbing to clean it all up but it turned out fantastic!! I came across a Novak receiver in excellent shape that I bought for $13. Next up is the Novak esc, body & wing, paint, vintage 7 cell(if anyone knows where I can find one let me know), and then on the shelf it goes!!!

I have attached a few photos, since these photos I have replaced the flat head screws with the correct ones!!!

That car is in great shape. I used to run the Novak NESC4 in my car in 7-cell mod (dirt oval) with great success. While I agree with the responses, personally, I would sell the T4 (since it's in the package) and get any needed parts to finish up the car.

Sorry, I misread your post...I thought you already had both of those ESCs.

Also, you can try here for "period" type batteries. http://www.batteryspace.com/NiCdBatteriesAndPacks.aspx
I know they're not actually from that era, but they are the same type.
