Goldpan Bondo?

Post by craigc8791 »

I got a another goldpan the other day. I was happy with it untill I realized there was a hole in the side of the tub. I heard Jb Weild is the best to use to patch it, but then do I paint the tub or reanodize it? If so where do I send it to anodize or powder coat it

I do not think you can Anodize JB Weld ? If you want to fix the hole you might need to see about someone TIG welding it closed by a competent Welder. A few guys on here I believe had reparied a few tubs, and I can not say exactly they had it done. If you do a search of the forums I am sure you are to find it. Good Luck

your best bet is to either live with the hole, or get it welded up. If you have it welded, you will need to have the tub refinished, the weldment will need to be 5356 alloy in order to be reanodized, or you can used 4043 and get it powdercoated.

you can always find a decent used tub on ebay, or stick around here long enough to hit the BST.
