A build I waited 20 years to do
I'm a "30-something" and I grew up on the Clod Buster. Back in 1989 when RCCA did the Clash of the Titans series with Double Dare and ClodBuster, they used the original Tamiya GREEN Bowtie ClodBuster that made the impression on everyone's mind that the Clod was the King. Ever since that historical magazine article that GREEN Bowtie Clod has been etched in my mind. I've owned ClodZilla's, red Clods, blue Clods, you name it, but I've never had the original Bowtie Green ClodBuster that got me (and so many others) started liking Clods in the first place.
Well I'm tired of thinking about it..... 20 years is long enough.
I bought an original Bowtie Clod kit and built it, just finished it an hour ago.
If anyone has the cover picture or any pics from the Clash of the Titans article with the green Clod I'd love to see it. I haven't saw the pics since the early 90's. All I have is this one pic from 1991.
and without further adoooooooooo.............

Now that's what I'm talking about! So sweet! You kinda just made my day. This is old school. Not only is this a bowtie body, but you also got the super rare Chevrolet logo on the bed stripe you lucky bastid! I like the ESP chassis brace. Nice subtle, realistic build. I assume you put full ball bearings in it? What kind of electronics did you put in? Very nice build. With the modified Zilla, you've got yourself a great pair here. Best stuff I've seen in a long time. I'm smiling at my computer right now. Now I'll shut up and go back to enjoying the pics.

Won't believe me if I tell you........ lol.shodog wrote:That looks great. what paint did you use for the body?
I needed something thick to cover any molding lines so it would look perfect.

Many thanks! They are my fav's of the bunch. I wanted the green clod bone stock so it's all stock except the lower brace.MelvinsArmy wrote:Now that's what I'm talking about! So sweet! Envy envy envy! God I envy you! But in a positive way of course! Beautiful job! I am dying to get one but my budget isn't that hot right now! Would be nice to see some videos of it running! What electronics are you going to install? Brushless or brushed?
Cheers!
Cheers!
