rc 10 parts
rc 10 parts
I just got a vintage team associated RC 10, it all seems to work ok, but i noticed the front arm is broken. Is there a good spot to look for parts other than ebay? I looked there and they want 5.00 for the arm and 20.00 to ship it, which is ridiculous at it fits in a normal envelope. Its going to need allow of tlc which i dont mind.
Thanks

Re: rc 10 parts
Is your car a later one with the longer front arms?? These are still available from Tower Hobbies; http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LX2511&P=7
LowClassCC on here created this usefull page with links to Tower Hobbies for all the parts that you can still get for your car

Hope this helps & welcome to the forum.... p.s; post some pictures of your new-old RC10 - we all like to see pics![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

Re: rc 10 parts
I see a picture
Is this your car?
The short wishbones are harder to come by - ebay is your best bet i'm afraid - not unless you are willing to wait until you have enough (meaningful) posts on here - by which time you can request access to the Buy Sell Trade section & put a request in the wanted section![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Re: rc 10 parts
ya thats the car, i had a hard time getting the picture down to 256k. I got it for 40.00 and an old xbox. It came with an almost new upgraded redcat something as well, i already own a redcat volcano, and im waiting on some bushings for a 1991 kyosho outlaw truck. I think the only thing wrong with the rc10 is the front piece, the rest of it is intact and just needs a good solid bath in some lighter fluid and re-assembly. The motor and gears are already really smooth, should i take that apart and clean it too?

Lighter fluid, really?
Have you tried kerosene? Ok I'm joking. Just FYI... I like to clean my parts with simple green or orange hand goop.
Hey, maybe ligher fluid is the ticket, IDK
By the way you got a good deal. Are you going to post pics of how it looks after the cleanup?

Re: rc 10 parts
sorry for delay, just got a new job and dealing with where my kids shall go while we are at work. I pretty much need the front set of the picture, left and right front arms.
Re: rc 10 parts
Btw if look at a bottle of rosonol lighter fluid it states it is excellent at removing grease, tar, labels and oil stains. ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
I use canning jars, put some lighter fluid in, put the parts in, shake it, soak for a bit, and voila greaseless, dirtless parts
I use a toothbrush to clean the hard to get areas.

Also nee the anti roll bar, well i have it, i really just need the bit that attaches it to the arm. I think its called a button head screw.
Re: rc 10 parts
oh and the redcat runs awsome, guy who had it didnt know what he was doing, he cut the battery lead from the esc to use on the rc 10 so it would work. I got the connector soldered back on and it works well, it needs a new chassis which is 15.00
oh and it has a 27 turn motor in it, whatver that means.
K i'll be quiet now.

Re: rc 10 parts
thanks for looking, unfortunately its the right front arm that is broken. I think this may wait until the winter when i can devote a bit more time to it.
