not very good for running it, carbon is conductive and would create interference...badhoopty wrote:i would form a stock looking motor plate out of carbon fiber.
as for the look of the AC10 it's really amazing and neat, but I would have chosen all white parts with Teflon shocks and black motor plate, of course white parts are not as easy to find...

And aluminium isn't conductive?Asso_man! wrote:not very good for running it, carbon is conductive and would create interference...badhoopty wrote:i would form a stock looking motor plate out of carbon fiber.
Problem with a carbon mount is that it won't conduct heat from the motor and the chance of damaging the carbon where the motor screws on. Also the mount has to be attached to the gearbox by screw threads in the plate, not sure how long they would last in a carbon plate.
I would go for a black motor mount, then the teflon shocks for the full on stealth look. Using gold shocks and motor plate they will stand out against all that black, but then that may be the point.

I would be curios to see what it would look like if all the black plastics were spray with a glossy clear coat.PBR Allstar wrote:I can't tell from the photos but is the carbon glossy on both sides or is it a satin release sheet finish on the outside?
He's an idiot. Comes from upbringing. His parents are probably idiots too.
Custom Works uses graphite chassis in there NITRO Enforcer & Intimidator, the engine mounts directly to the graphite chassis.terry.sc wrote:Problem with a carbon mount is that it won't conduct heat from the motor and the chance of damaging the carbon where the motor screws on.
A graphite motor plate would be awesome with the AC chassis ....

Black MIP shocks with black springs all around, Technacraft wheels with blacked out center hub section and sitting nice and low....that would be sweet!

Re: ATOMIC CARBON AC10... WOW !
Yeah, I've always been a little slow to catch on I did see this chassis on RC Tech a while ago but I just found this forum and I'm going through every thread that seems interesting in the various forums to see if I can find more info on these old cars. I've killed about 16 hours in the past 3 days since Daryl Lane told me about this place....I think I'm starting to adhere to the couch a little bit but it's soooooooooooooooooooooooo worth it!
