Thanks Erich...that sorted that dilemma :sneaky:

Scr8p,
I agree, heavy metal should be run with Monster Truck tires, my favorite MT tires are the super Blackfoot tires...:D

Are super Blackfoot tires time specific? I too would like to see era specific additions/modifications for heavy metal/ classics. But you do need tires for certain vehicles, like Alyssa's Hornet...

The stock tractor treads got very little grip in the rear. Without the jc tires out back I would never get the lunchbox to clear that big double ;)

don't worry. if the class goes to a silver can tamiya handout, you won't clear them no matter what tires you have on it.

I plan on running a King Cab in the Heavy class... If we are thinking about changing up tire or motor rules, I need to know now before I start buying rubber and a motor.

Hey Brandon,

I doubt any more changes are going to happen, besides the motors for the "Classics Class".

Are you still racing 2wd and truck class??

i think the silver cans should go for the heavy metal class too. for guys wanting to run clods, it's their only choice besides 2 mild mods. you need to reverse the rotation of the rear motor. you can't do that with 27 turn stockers with fixed timing.

why not run both?

I ran 3 classes using a jrx-2, jrx-T and lunchbox. lots of fun.

This september I will have my daughter with me running her frog in classics, so I may have to cut one class myself due to logistics of driving/marshalling and vehicle prep.

Is this a trick question??

Woah, tough one there Rick, that would be something that I would run in 4wd against all the Schumachers, so I can "Monster Truck" my way to victory....

Makes you wonder, where would the Tamiya Toyota Pre-runner 4wd fall into?? It was released in 1994, it's in one of the R/C Car Action Mag scans. :D

Hey Aconsola,

If your daughter runs in "Classics" I'll let my daughter run my "Classics" entry, I really hope they do a separate class for the young ones...

well that would be great if I had a job. I am haveing a hard enough time finding the money for 1 brushless system much less two  plus the cost of the trip. I was looking for a LRP 17.5 to replace my 10.5 motor but mine melted down this weekend so now I am really in the hole now. not working is putting a big dent in my racing budget :( so its going to be my prose or a jrxt? plus with no tracks within a 100 miles of me, I want the lesser class as I dont get to race but about once a year. you know I need a chance  I dont think they will let me run with the kids
