Reg and Scr8p if there's anything either of you need you know all you have to do is ask. My house is your house as far as I'm concerned. I'm glad you're both going to make it! :)

PS- Looks like I"m going to have to make a trip to upstate NY this summer huh? :o

i was playing with the idea of getting to the vintage nats but i have a few questions

ive got an srt, eagle(almost a trx1) what if any classes would i run them in?

what classes do you run exactly and what rules do you have for the classes? (motors, batts, tires, bodys, etc)

what is the price to race per class or do you have a different system?

will you run a vintage nitro class? if so whats the engine limit? got a nitro hawk w/ trx pro .15 id love to throw against some rc10gt's

thank you for your help

As far as I know, same rules govern this race as '09 VONATS. Lipo batteries are limited to 2s.

Classes:
** All classes are limited to car produced 1994 and earlier.**

Radio gear "electronics" are open.
Tires/wheels are open
Li-Po batteries are allowed.

4wd Buggy
27 turn ROAR legal stock and 17.5 brushless motors only (under current rules).
Radio gear "electronics" are open.

Stadium Truck
27 turn ROAR legal stock and 17.5 brushless motors only (under current rules).
Radio gear "electronics" are open.
Tires/wheels are open (including narrow front tires)
Li-Po batteries are allowed.

Heavy Metal
All 1/10 Monster Trucks allowed, 2wd of 4wd, 2ws or 4ws
27 turn ROAR legal stock and 17.5 brushless motors only (under current rules).
Radio gear "electronics" are open.
Tires/wheels are open (including narrow front tires)
Li-Po batteries are allowed.

Classic
Limited to "non-pro" and entry level cars (Tamiya Hornet, Mauri Ninja, Royal Ripper for example)
All 1/10 Buggies, 2wd or 4wd, 2ws or 4ws allowed

Erich R.

Will RC10s with a monster truck conversion be allowed to run in the "Heavy Metal" class??

I wanted to build a Heavy Metal RC10, with V-thread spiked tires, traction will suck, but it'll look awesome.

my big question is bodys? i normaly run odball stuff (a lotus body is on my srt for example) would the srt be allowed to run that body or do i have to suck it up and run a roar legal 1/10th st body?

As Brandon posted, the rules so far, haven't changed.

The SRT would definitely run with the 2wd competition trucks. The Eagle, not sure about where that would fall into

Entry fee is $35 for the 1st class, $25 each additional class.

No nitro vintage class.

Hope to see you there!!!

Go ahead and run your oddball body, It'll surely be different, last year Melvinsarmy, ran his Losi LXT with a beetle body on it.

i may convert it into a trx-1 buggy (halfway there as it is) or if my trx-3 is done in time run that in 2wd buggy instead

edit: biggest problem as it stands right now is getting there, 18, no drivers lisense and i may or may not be inlisting this summer

Thanks guys seems you got it while I was sleeping in the job. Yes those would be in the stadium truck class.

Rc10 is an RC10 so I'd put it in stadium truck as well. Think of heavy metal more like a truck version of classic. I had my second thoughts about letting king cabs (I ran one too) in there bc it's not really a monster truck but it's def no 10t either. If it gets to a point where people don't want to run in it bc everyone has king cabs etc then I'll make changes.

i'd really like to see the classic, aswell as the heavy metal class, become more of a "kit type" class with only period hopups. that would include tires, too. especially the heavy metal class. a class designed for monster trucks, and guys are running jconcept double d's. i mean, come on............
