Need some help on a RC10T

Post by 1of1547 »

Hey guys, I've got a question about a RC10 that I just got. A member of another forum told me to post it up here for some information. From what people have told me it is a RC10T Team Truck. It has the black frame/nose piece/motor mount and the team front shocks. I am confused about the A arms though. I have white arms on it now. But it also has a set of short black arms for the rear. Which ones are correct for the truck.
My goal is to try to take it back to stock and leave it alone. From what I can tell it is missing the dog bones and battery tray. What else does it look like it's missing? Can you still get the original body or other missing parts? Is there enough to put it back together?
Thanks,

long arms are correct for the truck. the short ones are for buggy. looks to be missing the plastic nub on top of the rear body mount that is not on the truck. rear axles and rear dogbones, (or universals).. missing transmission brace, and the proper rear shocks. also missing the gear cover and original spur gear. and i almost forgot about the front bumper.

as for a body look in the business section of this site. mr lexan does reproduction's or the original body for this truck.

i also have the manual for this truck in my downloads section on my site if you need it. http://lowclasscc.net/downloads/associated/

Welcome!

The dogbones might be difficult to find new. You can always upgrade to CVDs, which are still available:

Thanks for the help guys. I found three of the body mounts. But they are missing the nub that would go through the body. I put it together with everything that I had. I talked the the LHS and they said that they can get me the dogbones and endlinks. I'm in no big hurry. I'll see what I "stumble" across.

Well guys, I got it cleaned up. It isn't in to bad of shape. The front plate has some scatches, but the frame is pretty clean. I found the bumper, but somebody drilled two extra holes in it. It also came with a Team Associated motor with a silver and blue label. Is this the original motor? So far I've got a white battery cup, transmission support and antenna mount. I put some old T Maxx shocks on it until I get the correct ones. I just couldn't stand the red Clod Busters.

Looks good 1of1547. IMO, you should get the CVD's if you plan to run it.
add a front bumper and you are good to go...

Your doing a great job so far. I agree with m_vice, if you are going to run it, use cvd's and for a bumper on a runner I like the RPM ones.

Looks like you need some turnbuckles as well. If you pm me your address I can mail out 4 to you for free!

Cool thanks, I really appreciate that!!! :D Thanks for all of your help guys!!!

In all honesty it probably will end up being a shelf queen along with my Clod Buster (Big Shelf ). I've wanted both for 20+ years. I probably just put dogbones back in it because it will not get driven much. And I want to try to keep it original as possible, maybe some period correct after market parts if I have the originals. If the bottom of the pan was beat I'd definitely drive it more. But from what I've seen it's in pretty good shape. And it had most of the white parts on it. I think the only white parts I still need are a bumper and rear a arm mount.

There are some of the shiny ones on eBay right now. You can also use these, but you'll need wheels that fit 3/16" axles:
