10T runner build

Post by mikea96 »

Finally got a chance to start my 10T rebuild. Everything cleaned and started to reassemble. I added new RPM front bumper and nose plate. I have new tires and wheel, new team shocks and new RPM arms on the way. I think im going to add an RPM tranny and T3 slipper though as this will be a light runner. Is the T2 body the best fit besides the original?

Sweet that is what i thought. I also went ahead and ordered a RPM tranny conversion and a full set of new bearings.

Got some more work done today. New RPM tranny conversion and arms. Made my own carbon tranny brace and front bumper.

Would I need to use RPM body mounts for the T2 body on an RC10T or will the stock mounts work?

Thanks.

The stock mounts are the same for the 10T and T2, but on the T2 they are about 1/2" closer together in the rear. The RPM mounts have both mounting holes, so they are nice if you have them, and they're tough. Or, you can just move the stock mounts inward 1/4" on each side.

Indeed, the RPM adjustable mounts are very tough, and do aid in getting the T2 body to fit a 10T.

Personally I really like the T2 body on a 10T...it is the 10T body with just a little added modernness.

Probably answering my own question here:

So I need to drill out the suspension mounts 1/4" if I can't find the RPM mounts? I don't want to drill anything (especially parts that are no longer available) if I don't have to! The RPM website shows discontinued for the RC10T mounts...ebay is my next stop.

Anyone have an old set that is not in use?
