Loving both your collections Minichamps & Jeroen - I challenge BORMAC to show us his 2wd collection all lined up too. Jeroen - is that a RaceCraft shell on the Cougar 2nd one in on the back right?jeroen206 wrote:Looking good , all these cougars together.
Here is a part off my mint 2WD family
Heres my one & only Cougar 2 - its an ex-Bormac works car
I was going to run it, but i'm rather worried about breaking any of the rare parts (especially rear wishbones) - as such i'm not sure whether to keep it or not, anyone fancy a trade for a NIB Cougar 1 or TopCat?
The CougarII holds a special place in my heart - not because I owned or raced one, but because I watched some of the development of the car at our local club. I raced at an indoor club in Irchester, Northants - not too far from the Schumacher factory. The guy to beat was a lad called Steve Swan - who I believe worked for Schumacher & would be accompanied on the race night by one of the Schumacher designers (not sure on his name - but he left to work in France at one of the car companies) I can remember Robin Schumacher & Phil Davies turning up sometimes too. Anyway - I would have been racing a Cougar 1 at the time & we were facinated by these special white (prototype) parts that would appear on Steve's car. Steve's car was always so quick - & it was almost a for-gone conclusion that he'd win the A final every night - the shell he used at one point, i'm pretty sure was the either the one used in the promo picture..... the one replicated by both minichamps & CATS
P.S; Steve is now a session drummer - he made a brief return & raced at our local club a few months back.... I beat him

I hate you all!
Seriously impressive collection there! There's something about those earlier cars that makes me drool in a way that the newer ones just don't!

Re: Cougar 2 Family Photo Album
Derbydan i have the shell you are talking about still new and uncut. Infact I sent it to Thomas for reproduction. At some point he'll have a buck so if you're keen on reliving old memories get in touch with Thomas (aka-BUGLE).

Also Dan Ive raced my Cougar's in lots of vintage events and even won in two endurance meetings and am still yet to break something. these cars are pretty much bullet proof. Should you break an arm anyway let me know and I'll see what i can do to send you a replacement.

Well, seeing as this has become a "piddling-in-the-wind" Cougar (2) collection thread, here's a quick pic of mine.

That'll have to do, not enough room on the floor to do much better at the moment....Alex
