Moment of silence

Post by scr8p »

well..... it's a sad day at scr8p's house. my trusty ko propo ex5 radio that has guided my cars/trucks for thousands of laps over our 20 year partnership has gone to that r/c heaven in the sky.

:(

Sorry, man. Great radios. I use one in my Pumpkin still. Glitch free and great range for an AM. I will pour some of my 40 on the curb in it’s honor. :(

are you sure it's completely dead, and not just mostly dead?

maybe a bad regulator or something, cold solder joint, or something similar.

Don't give up man!!! You might able to rebuild him, make him stronger. We have the technology! Unless is got run over, in that case, my condolences.....

nothing actually happened to it. it worked fine the last time i used it.

i was intalling the electronics in my agi-jammer so i could get the steering servo centered before mounting it on the chassis. i flipped the on/off switch, and it showed nothing on the meter. so figuring the batteries were dead, i but new ones in it. still nothing. so then i thought maybe it was the battery holder, so i put it in my other other ex-5 and it powered up to 10% on the meter.

now that being said, i just went downstairs and was gonna open it up. but i figured i'd try throwing batteries in it again....... just to make sure it was screwed up. when i flipped the switch, the meter jumped a little bit. when i went to turn it off, the meter jumped again. so then i slid the switch to the on position slowly. it powered up to 100%, but when it was all the way the right in the on position, the meter dropped to zero. i slid it back to the left a little bit, it went back to 100%. so, it looks as if the only thing wrong with it is the switch. :D
