T3 shocks on gold pan?

How awfully wide would it look with a gold pan and t3 arms/shocks? I was eyeballing it, and it would be one wide SOB.

I tried the search, but it wont let me search for t3.

So I tried it, and must say, its freaking wide. I'm afraid too wide. I don't even know if I should continue with the back end or not.

You mean It wont get stuck 50 up a 100 oak tree, like my plane did last year (thought I had enough battery to make just one more go around !!!) :oops:

Where can you find the parts for the old shocks, some of the washers are different for the newer cars.

If you didn't damage the snap ring or spacers all you realy need are the red orings .

Okay, so i believe i found the issue with the horrible binding I had. The original piston (it has a notch, not a hole) i believe swelled and is now way to big to even fit. so, i pushed on a modern small bore piston which was very tight to put on,...

ahh okay thanks and sorry abou the thread. So, the new 1.32 shafts would fit perfect? and yes, its a 98% original car so it should be the short arm.

I'm currently working on some vintage kyosho projects. The Optima was my second car I ever had and I'm recently back into RC and want to recapture some of that magic LOL.

Does anyone have any good ideas where to get gold shocks.

I'm getting ready to restore a number of gold shocks and I have been reading about using synthetic motor oil (Mobile 1 ect) vs Silicone oil as the synthetic seems to affect rubber seals the least.Question is if you use a synthetic oil wouldn't that...

The way you build them too has a lot to do with shock life. If you're re-using shock shafts, POLISH them! Otherwise get new ones. Also pre-lube everything. If you assemble anything dry and move it, the seals will get small (micro) tears in them....
