mip cvds
i am converting the rear dogbones to cvd on a gold pan. i am changing the size of rear axle from 1/4 to 3/16 do they make a 3/16 hub to fit the old wheels. and were can i find them. also does anybody still make the old style wheels. also i have seen some old rc10s with balloon style front tires were can i find these. i just like the look of nobby front tires. and i like the look of the old 3 piece wheels.

If you are changing over to 3/16 axles, then you just need to change the bearings out of your original hubs. The hubs take a 3/8 OD bearing. If you want to run the old wheels then I would keep the 1/4 axles.

These will work on the 1/4" axles and are for 2.2 tires.

Re: mip cvds
well, the original wheels have a 3/16" through-hole, with a chamfer for the 1/4" axle taper, where the pin goes through. So the original wheel will still bolt on, but may not center perfectly without the taper, though maybe it will be just fine.
I think you can actually modify b2 and b3 wheels (duratrax also) with the taper, and run them on 1/4" axles. just need to find the right taper, and modify as necessary.
B4 wheels have a different offset, so you need alot of things to change to make them work well('what's old is new' thread).

Re: mip cvds
were can i find cool looking wheels for a b3. my new cvd kit is for a b2 or b3 with a 3/16 axle . i just dont like the solid racing wheel look. i want something like the white spoke or mag or the jelly bean wheels but they are hard to find. i would like the 3 peice wheels so i can change the tires without glueing them. i plan on racing my gold pan and i know old tires are hard to find. i dont really have a preference just something other than solid style racing wheels. but if i have to i will glue them to some cool wheel and use them to race.

Re: mip cvds
just put them on your dream list like a lot of us have. i have scored parts that i had only dreamed about and for great prices. the key is to keep a stash of funds ready for when you do come across a deal. there's nothing worse than having to pass up an out of the world deal because of the lack of funds.Hillbillyrcer wrote:welldang. guess i wont have a set of them wheels.
