Hey Tamiya people...

I've got a bunch of MadCap/Astute transmission parts in a box as well as many other Tamiya buggy components that I could use to make myslef a sratch built buggy.

The only thing is that I dont have all the parts for the transmission (it's like 85% complete). So I'm wondering, are there current Tamiya cars that share parts with the Astute/MadCap/St-Dragon? I mean all parts, not just the tranny. If yes which ones? I don't want to search for vintage parts for this project.

HI!... Got this Tamiya MADCAP off of Ebay. I'll be restoring this one to out of box condition. It will get full ball bearings though.

OK, so not quite a barn find, but giving the condition it is in, I felt the title was appropriate!

I also found my old fast charger - I remember saving up hard for this bad boy - originally I only had one battery and the slow charger, so I was limited to about one run a day!
Can these old nicad units charge nimh batteries? If not, what is my best...

got this last night & dont know much about them.... couldnt find pics ot info on the tamiya site... only sais that its discontinued. anyone know much about them?

not sure what my plans are for it yet... just couldnt pass it up. All i had to do...

I just figured for a young boy a rustler would be better since a quick trip to the hobby store would be all it would take to fix the car,,,, not days of hunting on line & weeks of waiting....
+ going to the local hobby store is way cooler than...

Does anyone know if there are any readily available wheels that I can use to convert an Astute to a truck?

how about tamiya king cab/ monster racer, bush devil 1, blackfoot extreme or super, or non tamiya imex. factory works on ebay also has some 2.2 trucks wheels for the blackfoot it may fit astute.

I have had this kit for awhile now . I finally took the time to look at the manual. My god there must be a least 35 to 40 bearings in this car. What was tamiya thinking about on this one. I love the looks of this buggy but it seems they over...

I have had this kit for many years now, as well as all of the hop parts that are being installed. Finally have some spare time to build this buggy. Yes, BUILD it.

First of all, I realize that the Tamiya Astute was an over/under engineered buggy...
