And Now For Something Completely Different...
I finally got around to snapping some pics of my carpet oval 10T project. It will probably never see the carpet, but it sure looks good. My favorite mods are the NTC3 shocks with internal springs. I got the idea from the crawler guys who do this, and used some medium-weight 3/8"-diameter spings from my local hardware store. They seem to be about as stiff as the short gold or silver AE springs. Here are a list of the parts I used:
- Composite Craft TLTO graphite chassis
- Composite Craft steering kit
- Factory Works front oval shock tower
- Factory Works rear oval shock tower
- A&L dish wheels with mounted/trued foams
- A&L Roadkill body
- TrackMaster Graphite Turbo Glide tranny
- MIP 1/4" CVD's
- RPM front arms
- RPM rear arms
- RPM ball ends
- RPM front bumper
- RPM front body mount
- RPM front spindles
- RPM rear hubs
- Lunsford Punisher turnbuckles
- AE NTC3 shocks with internal springs

Since being on this site I have found that I have too many parts and R/C Models. Please help me get rid of them.

Here are a few pics of the Raodkill body mounted on my Kyosho Slingshot with velcro. I've had this body for many years and it was a spare for my oval LX-T. It's an original A&L and not a new release from Factory Works.

Maybe a silly question considering your not planning on running it, but would you run oil in these shocks as well as the internal springs? I do like the look of it. I'd like to know how it goes!

I actually debated this myself when building the shocks. For now I actually have the bodies full of lightweight oil and just dropped the springs inside.
Some of the crawler guys run their internally-sprung shocks full of oil, while others run just enough oil to keep the o-rings lubed.
They seem to operate just like a normal oil-filled shock with external spring when sitting, but that might change while on the track.

Truck looks great dave! I'm curious to see if the C.C. 10T chassis I sold to Klavvy shows back up soon, I just love vintage oval builds!

That's completely disturbing, Al. Not you, just that image. I may have to sleep with the light on tonight.
I’m digging that 10T carpet rig, LTO_Dave. Nice build.

Re: And Now For Something Completely Different...
Just a few small updates...
I've added a Hyperdrive belt drive setup and flipped the tranny plates, Maxtec 30-degree stock motor, Trinity PUSHED 1400 SCR cells, and mounted an A&L Roadkill with side dam and Factory Works rear spoiler:
I wasn't too keen on the pink wheels at first, but I've decided to stick with the theme.
And here's a preview of what else I've been building:
