If my plan comes together and I get my hands on the original Traxxas mold then we will be good..... which is why I haven't yet.

Well here is some more food for TBG thought...... he has blocked me from purchasing from him on ebay. WHY? I have never had an issue with him in the past. I bought some carbon fiber Tamiya 959 parts from him without an issue and left positive feedback. Other than that, there is no reason for blocking me, unless people are into blocking the "competition".

I sent an email through ebay, but based on the info you guys haven't gotten back, should I expect the same?

Edit to my post at the bottom of the first page.

"Also on price total:
- I promise mine don't shatter
- You get defined lines in the body, such as the windows, grille, etc.
- You get paint masks
- You get over spray film
- There are no defects in mine. I had one of TBG bodies, and there were waves, bubbles, thin spots etc.
- They are lexan and the same exact quality as those in your LHS..... I did my homework.
- YOU'LL GET PROPER CUSTOMER SERVICE!"

Yes, it bothers me.

No response yet from TBG on my material question. Very unprofessional...

Maybe that's why I am blocked.

Why do people have to be that way, make decisions based on feelings versus facts? Love or hate you, everyone can bid on my stuff. The only reason I block people is if they stiff me by not paying etc.

Post whore continues...... I did get a response.

"Any customer that has returned or been dissatisfied with our products or has an unpayed item transaction is then blocked from further transactions, your transaction must have been one of the above to result in being blocked.
Thanks TBG."

I always pay for my items, but I did return a 959 body as I wasn't happy with the undercuts, not to mention the undercuts were so thin it was ripped under the front bumper. If that would have been accurately described in the listing, I wouldn't have bought it.

Again, I go back to customer service........ if the customer isn't happy with something or something is broken or damaged, why should the customer be responsible for that. Work to make it right, not at the customer expense (ie, why block them for future transactions).

This is why I had hoped he is reading,so maybe he would pick his ack up but that doesnt look like its going to happen, instead he is putting the blame on his customers. What a looser.

Not to cause any trouble Jay, but I see 2 good points to his feedback--1) you left him an AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA+++++++++++++, and none of his neutrals or neg's had any reference to packaging materials "other than" the norm 8)

Wow I've let the thread down a few days and look what I found

Thanks for the explanation mrlexan, I appreciate you discussing it openly. Maybe I am off base here but I regularly purchase full-size kits from the US, shipped 1st class, and it usually costs about $45 to ship to Western Europe. I was just surprised by the $30 that were requested in the auction, and as it seems that a lot of people try to make a cheap buck on ebay by pumping up the S&H lately or requesting Priority Mail when 1st class works too, well, I just looked at it with not-so-positively-biased eyes. I'll have a look at it again I guess ;)

I've received the Astute bodyset. I am not a Polycarbonate professional but I've cut and painted my share of lexan bodies since I started in the hobby in 1985. His stuff indeed "feels" somewhat different, more rigid, however the molding is fine. I haven't cut it yet due to it not being a priority lately (first onroad race of the season last week, first offroad one tomorrow  ), so due to fact that the material is thick to some extent , that the body is small and low, and that the "base plate" (not sure how to call this otherwise... the bottom plane, if you want...) it makes the overall thing somewhat "stiff". But to be completely honest, had I not been made wary by this thread, I probably wouldn't have paid that much attention given how happy I am that I could get an Astute set for a reasonable amount to restore a nice runner (I have two original runner bodies - with f'ed up paintjobs- for the running sessions anyway). The lines look ok, the pre-punched holes don't look that homogeneous though. Nothing serious anyway.

The RC10 gear covers are okayish, but the "ribbed" area next to the pinion does show some imperfections, especially on the outer edge. Still, for $5 a pop and "free" shipping (when buying a body set - mucho pragmatic), looks much better than a naked motor plate

I'll try to cut the body soon - will keep you posted.
