One of my automotive instructors (1986 ) had a Cosworth Vega. He brought it into the shop to show the students that Vegas were not the POS that most people thought. I couldn't tell you any of the specs on the car, but since this was the head auto tech guy at the college, with his own personal automotive shop business outside of teaching, I'm sure he'd massaged it a fair bit.

To show you the kind of talent this guy had, he was on Gayle Banks' pit crew when he set whatever records he set pre-1986. He had a picture of a rubber duck in Banks' intercooler, but would never tell us the story behind it.

On the Guillows plane....

I have built many of those planes, but not in years. The last time I built one, or probably even seen one, was at least 12-13 years ago. These days I am into bigger RC planes, but the principles remain the same. IIRC the Guillows planes are pretty stought out of the box, combine that with the fact that that planes is so small, and your biggest problem making it RC is going to be keeping the weight down. I think that even the ones that say "can be converted to RC" are only meant to be two channel, throttle and rudder. Get the lightest servos you can find. If you want to keep it cheap, you can get 3 gram servos of ebay for like $20 shipped for five of them. I can't speak for the quality of these units, but I know there are people flying foais with them. Servo strength will not be an issue, you won't need much power or throws. You are going to need Lipo's for sure, there's no way that little plane will be able to handle the weight of nicd's or nimh's. I am just guessing here, but I am thinking something along the lines of a 2s 7.4 volt 900mah should be about what you will need. You have a lot of motor/ESC choices. I have a brand new E-flite park 370 brushless outrunner motor, which should be pretty good for that plane, if you are ineterested shoot me a pm, I will let it go cheap, and can make you a good deal on an ESC too. Though you may want to do a little more research, and wait until you have your radio and servos setup before you decide on a motor.
