Dirt Hawg front wheels?

Post by SteveK »

I want to run a set of Pro-Line Dirt Hawgs on my buggy and I'm looking for some front wheels. I saw the VW running some RPM Revolvers on the front, and they look awesome, but I'd like to avoid swapping out all those front end parts if possible.

Has anybody tried the front wheels from the Tamiya DT-02 buggy (Sand-Viper, Neo Falcon, etc)? They look wide enough, and swapping in the front steering knuckles and axles would be painless enough. I had a set of those HPI bearing adapters for dirt oval racing (clay oval actually, old Tamiya buggy fronts and Pro-Line waffle rears were the only things that worked), but lost ONE of them years ago and it's driven me nuts ever since LOL

I have a couple sets of the HPI rear hex adapters, which actually works out well because I have some RC10 1/4" CVDs, and some spare 3/16" axles but no dogbones, so I wouldn't need any new parts there.

If the dirt hawgs are 2.2" any of the b2/3/4 wheels should fit right on. For 2.0 you can use custom works wheels.

They are 2.2", but they are 'wide', 4WD buggy width up front. Pro-Line used to make some wide wheels for them, but not anymore.

Ah, those will work. Don't know how I missed them LOL You'd think Pro-Line would have a link to them on the tire page on their website.

They're standard B4 wheels, 1 inch wide (or close enough to). 2WD and 4WD front wheels have been the same width since the B3 widebody rims.
