Old School Maisto RC VW Bus
I know it's not officially "hobby grade", but I love the Tamiya level of detail. I see an old school (red & white) tu-tone paint job, roof rack, and a couple of long boards in it's future...

Projects and shelfers:
Late Edinger, RC10B2, Dual Sport, GT, Kyosho Turbo Ultima, Triumph, Tamiya Sand Scorcher, Blackfoot/Monster Beetle, '67 Beetle, Nikko Rhino, Traxxas Fiero, Slash, Hand-built Dune Buggy..all on here somewhere...

That body would look killer on top of a tamiya M chassis with the vw wheels

I'm still considering a chassis swap.shodog wrote:That body would look killer on top of a tamiya M chassis with the vw wheels
I've got the left over VW wheels from my Tamiya Bug.
That new HPI chassis looks awesome too.
I'd love to find a set of scale BRM's for it.

Well while they might not win any drag races they sure do both look great and y'all should be proud, I also think accessorizing (surf boards, extc.) would only add to the look.

Re: Old School Maisto RC VW Bus
In the 90's hpi made a combi bus for their rs4 mini that was pretty nice. It was a lexan body though and came with a surfboard and if iremember right you could have it as a bus or a single cab pickup.
Tamiya makes surfboards for the new toyota hilux pickup I beleive you can buy them separate or on eBay.

Too cool.
I remember this body.
I wanted one back in the day, but didn't want to take off the Bug body I had at the time. If I remember right, it fit the Tamiya Bug chassis pretty well.

Sweet!
Do they come like this, or do you have to paint them?

I remember seeing that body years ago, it was pretty cool. I liked the pickup option. I think it fit Tamiya's M Chassis too at the time.
I think it's against the law to have an old school Bus without surfboards...I'm gonna get on that ASAP though.
