RC10 CE Gold Pan Shocks

Post by djthomp »

Where can you find the parts for the old shocks, some of the washers are different for the newer cars.

Thank you for any advice.

That is the rebuild kit for the newer style top load shocks. The original shocks were bottom loaders and the rebuild kits except for the red orings are not available anymore. Sometimes you can find them on eBay or perhaps at a lhs that has some old parts but they are rare.

Does anybody know if the large black o-rings from that kit (see tower link above) work?

ya they will fit/seal the gold shocks, there may be a "slight" gap because the grey shocks had a slightly slimmer ring (under the threads) to accomodate the seal.. you can take a file and take off just a little bit.. i suggest you fit them first and see if it needs that even first.

i read somewhere that this kit below MIGHT work, never tryed it myself. you still need the fittings from that other kit above, the key peices here are the plastic washers and c-clip, for $2.39 its worth a shot maybe

If you didn't damage the snap ring or spacers all you realy need are the red orings .
