Hey guys. I started a new thread for my Ultima build. This is for the one seen here:

http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=13630

Just wanted to share some 95% complete pics. I still need to adjust the steering to get rid of some bump steer and install some puretech battery straps for the center mounted battery. Hope you like it.

Thanks guys. To get 2.2 wheels in the front, I used Ultima RB5 front carriers, axles, wheels, etc. For the rear, I used some short Lazer CVDs, hexes, RB5 rear wheels and some Kyosho spacers. If anyone needs a full parts, list let me know and I will compile it.

I like the CRP axles and desert gator wheels solution better personally. I think traxxas bandit parts are a good option also if you like hex wheels upfront.

The colourscheme and sandmaster body look fabulous Rich, really does give the car something modern while respecting the vintage character.

i tried the bandit parts, the caster block is really really bulky and doesnt fit most A-Arms properly, you dont get alot of downward clearance cause it rubs.. i had to sand mine to fit it on a trx1 and trying it on other cars just doesnt fit. desert gator wheels are good solution too..

i just like the the RB5 because i can share wheels now between trx1, my ultima, and a future car ive yet to build to run.

LOL, that's why I prefer the desert gator wheels and CRP5mm axles: so I can share the front wheels between my ultimas, tcp, academy griffin and even use some 2.2 yokomo fronts (with 8x5 shouldered bearings and ultima front adapters). Even the original ultima front wheels will fit the crp axles when you get 8X5 bearings to replace the original 8X4 ones.
I did use at some point the RB5 axles and wheels, with idea of being able to use them on my 4WDs too but after a while realised it wasn't happening cause 4wd fronts and 2wd front tires are such different designs.

I used the all Kyosho setup to keep it Kyosho. :P Plus, at least in my area, it's easier to get Kyosho than Academy parts. I also have an RB5 which I used to borrow parts so I could test fit before I ordered. A few more pics.

Rich, I see you finally got your hands on a set of the Andy's long front a-arms!

Nice work on the build! I would appreciate the parts list that you used on this car for future reference! I remember you telling me that the sandmaster body would work on the Ultima, and I had my reservations about it, but I must say it looks pretty darned good!

What rear wing mounts did you end up with?

THIS LOOKS AWESOME  Rich... so cool. It looks factory.
I would love to see some pics of the rear hubs with the wheel remove and get that list.
You did a great job man. :D

Thanks for the compliments guys! Brandon, yes, I finally got some Andy's arms. I will take some pics of the rear suspension without the wheels.

The base is an Ultima Pro XL chassis and the A&L Lethal Weapon transmission. I used the Kyosho Outrage body (SM46) and the JConcepts Illusion V-Wing (0114). The bulkheads and hinge pins are all standard Ultima. I don't have the part numbers for the shock towers, but they are Team Blue Groove. The shocks are Kyosho Equalizers (W5080 & W5082). I used the UMW1 wing mount for the wing.

Front suspension:

P/N Description

3500 Andy's Wide Track Front Arms (Black)
LA17 Plate Set
LA228 Suspension Shaft
UM505 Front Knuckle & Hub Carrier Set
UM506 Front Wheel Shaft (RB5)
92921 Servo Saver Tube & Spring
LA221B Servo Saver
W5029W Front Wheel
TOWC8480 ST-15 servo saver shaft

Rear suspension:

LA258 Universal Swing Shaft (60.5mm)
LA218 Drive Washer
LA253 Axle Spacers
W5027W Rear Wheel

Finally, I used RPM ball ends and some generic Kyosho turnbuckles. They are leftovers from replacing various Kyosho turnbuckles with Lunsford titanium. I'm waiting for some pure-tech battery straps to hold a battery down the center.

Why the 60.8mm swing shafts? The 62.5 ones were what I expected to see.
