Thanks for giving me a little more insight on the rims.
Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Ok, that's an oddball! I can't even find any references to it on the Internets.Lowgear wrote: Smaller car is a Spital Trial-12

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
...Its best not to question it.
But joking aside there was a beat one on ebay a while ago with an orange body. It had a 'buy it now' of $30 but apparently nobody wanted it as the seller kept relisting it over and over. They also had no idea what it was. I asked on here but nobody knew either. So I searched around on Tamiya Club and eventually came across it.

Wow, thanks for the links. Guess I didn't search hard enough. Then again I was supposed to be working. Certainly an odd little car. It will be interesting to see if I can find a body...

Yeah they seem to be pretty neat. I wouldn't mind picking up a nice example if I ever came across one. But then again rare and oddball R/C's are my favorite.

I picked these up CNC with hex fittings on all 4. they were listed as 1/10 in the car section, so I assumed sweet TC rims, turned out to be beautifully macjined 2.2 s with true beadlocks , anyone seen anything similar?
Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Ok, figured this one out. The bigger buggy in the picture is an MRC Vortex as described in the August 1998 RCCA:RedScampi wrote:Ok, here's one...or two actually. Snagged this BIN this morning - no real idea what either car is. Any help?

Vortex! Thats right I forgot all about that thing.
purpletimbo, those are some crazy looking rims.
I'm guessing that they're custom machined.

Looks like JPS! I need a set of rears for Losi or RC10. He doesn't apparently make buggy wheels any more.minimini wrote:anyone knows which company made these aluminium rims for Schumacher Cat ??........

Here's one I won earlier, 4WD 8 AAs and I recognise decals and paint scheme, thinking 1/14 FA Kyosho?

Doesn't look like kyosho 14th series, they looked less cartoonish iirc... plus I'm sure the bodies would be branded somewhere...purpletimbo wrote:Here's one I won earlier, 4WD 8 AAs and I recognise decals and paint scheme, thinking 1/14 FA Kyosho?
