Hi all am after help with steering bellcrank assembly for buggy want something better than the standard but unsure what is out there any ideas?

Atlas sells a copy of the Houge system that is made in aluminum. It comes anodized gold if you can stomach the color. I used a set in a build I did for someone and they worked fine. I had them re-ano'd black though

Otherwise SCR8P has the info on some other sources for the same thing. They're all around $30.

x2 on Atlas and his gear. Great guy, high quality stuff. I got him to include the bearings with it for 38 shipped.

if you don't care about plastic vs aluminum and need something a little more cost effective and are good with hand tools, you can retrofit these traxxas parts:

use 3/16 x 5/16 bearings, and a 3/16 tube drilled out to pass the 8-32 screws through, this is the tricky part. the sleeve is pretty thin, so sticking the bearings on the tube, and holding in a drill press, drill it through. I used tubing that already had a hole through the center so it was easier to center the tube on the drill press.

not knocking on atlas's parts either, they are very nice, price is just a little steep for me, as is for all the versions available......

This following link from RC10talk will tell you everything you need to purchase to upgrade your bellcranks using current AE parts. I've used all these bits on my RPM worlds car and they work wonderfully.

Awesome thanks guy's, i have sum arm mounts from atlas and they are awesome so probably just save up and get sum off him thanks

I picked up a set of these, and they work fine on Project X, as well as match. As soon as I can get pictures up to photobucket, I'll post a pic of them mounted.

Are they truck only?

not sure, but they worked. I had to get them tapped though.

They the GPM ones mate? If not what an how much mate? That the new AE speedy? What is the oa hieght of that speedy mate? Sorry for all the questions and thanks for the reply mate

FWIW, I just did this conversion over the weekend. I had to make a few mods to make everything fit without binding. The steering is so much more precise!

First up, thanks to jwscab for the parts list!
Second, http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAFV4&P=7 is the perfect size 3/16 tube to fit over the standard Team car steering screws with no mod required.
Third, I had to trim the bottom of the traxxas parts flush and machine a deeper hole for the bearing so the bearing would fit flush - this lowered everything down to the level of the original parts.
Fourth, I had to find the right size washer to go underneath that I could screw the bearings down onto without binding against the rotating part.

According to my verniers, the steering geometry is identical to the original from my Team car.

cool!!! good job finding the tubing! That was the toughest part of that assembly........
