GISI Rebuild (WOIC)

So a couple a weeks ago I scored a huge lot of old r/c stuff off craigslist. Mostly mediocre, except this. I didn't even know what it was, but everyone on here helped me identify it. Gisi carbon chassis with full rpm worlds conversion. Pretty freakin' sweet!! Funny thing is I was just getting ready to order parts to do a WOIN build, since I don't have any buggies in my collection. I was gonna modernize this one, but after cafeful consideration I decided to just do a thorough rebuild and shelf it for a while. Enjoy...

So there she is. The coolest in my little collection by far. I'm not done yet. I'm gonna add some universals. I found some old yokomo ones made for the B2 on ebay they look pretty sweet. If not them just some MIP CVD's. Prob gonna go with some 2.2 wheels. Phin told me about the TT BX wheels being the same as B2 so I might try those. I also wanna new body. The vintage viper looks cool, but I had to trim a whole bunch off because the top cf plate is too wide. Any ideas on a body that will fit? Also I think this has a composite craft front shock tower. I think Im gonna get a set of woven ones for the front and rear to complete the look. As far as electronics I have a novak 410m1c and a 14 turn Reedy that was gonna go in my 7001 10T, but I think theyre appropriate for this one.

Forgot to mention there's also the JC Racing wheels. http://www.jcracingproducts.co.uk/products/

They sell direct fit 2.2 front and rear wheels for the stock 1/4" axle (RC10) and for 3/16" axles (B2/B3). You can still by MIP CVDs with 1/4" axles so you won't have to change hubs and bearings at the rear.

Only the TT Phoenix BX wheels are the same as the B2 wheels, the fronts won't work without switching to B4 castor blocks and steering knuckles. Also the new 2.2 wheels for the RC10 Classic are the same as the TT wheels.

Associated has conversion kits on their website now! Gonna try to pick those up along with the RC10 CVA's they're selling now. Everythings out of stock. Guess people wanna WOIN their re-re's. Wait... that sounded disgusting lol

Nice score!

Is that an RC10 S&K A.I.R.S body? If so, that's the first one I've ever seen and it's just as sexy as I imagined.

That's the XX version, or Pro-SE I'm pretty sure its going to.be a tight fit over the Gisi chassis too-

yeah I haven't checked it for fit yet. I have a friend who has the same body on an rpm chassis rc10 and it fits perfect. For the time being, im not planning on mounting it. Everytime I get the lexan scissors out, something tells me to put it back in the box. The viper body I got with the car will do for now lol.

If it's going to stay on the shelf I see no problem using the S&K body, if it fits. If you're going to run it at all maybe a B2/B3 body will fit...or a 1/11th scale JRX-Pro repro from TBG. Their Hot Bodies Stealth Bomber repro might fit too (TBG calls it the Bandit) but it's an awfully fugly body. :?

yeah this guy will never see a track again. I'm just nervous about cutting and painting this body. Prob just gonna wait until I can either pay someone to do it for me, or until im more confident in my own skills.

I have a GISI chassis as well- I'll place one of mine over it and check- I'm 99% it's too narrow. Perfect for the RC10 Ultramolded chassis though!

The A&L Pro SE body might fit. With this rear tower. :)
