Box-Art Replica's, Let's see them.

I have been gathering items for a box-art replica along with the Jay Halsey replica and was curious as I have not seen a thread for it, how many here have box-art replicas and if you could post them in one thread for all to enjoy. If this has been done, someone PM me to it and I will delete this thread.

Well, I have one in the pipeline for 3 years now and still trying to gather the very few missing parts (I'm having a hard time finding a whitish G10 sheet right now), replicas of the shock collars are in the process of being made and the body will soon be painted by Brandon. I also need to locate a pair of diamond wing buttons and the correct Airtronics receiver...

Here's the thread: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=11914&start=0

And the best attempt I've ever seen so far can be found here: http://www.gassaninedesigns.com/id55.htm

The hardest part will be to find a set of the tires they are using on that box. The fronts and rears.
This may take years, and most likely be a set that has been used and worn out.
Too bad they just dont remold some of these old tires for us collectors.

Which driver is the SRB driver figure you mention? (SRB stands for ?)

Yup those tires are the rarest on Earth, especially the ones with the Goodyear logo on them, good luck with those! The very first Novak ESC that appears on the box art car is also über rare. I have only seen two of them so far...

SRB stands for Special Racing Buggy, aka the Tamiya Sand Scorcher. And my bad about the SRB driver, it's not the same as the Rough Rider taht has the full helmet.

Thank-you Asso_man for the info, especially your thread and that other guys thread. Amazing, there is so much work in front of me it is overwhelming... not to mention near impossible due to things like tires and speed controller. What Novak ESC is the one on the back of the box cover?
I have a nice Novak 1 courtesy of JHarris, my old Novak 1 (not in good condition physically) and a slightly worn out looking Novak 4, but the one on the box you say is different or older?

Also: Where the heck does he get new shiny tires like this from?

The world, may never know.

I remember when I had my 1st RC10, can't remember the front ribs I had in my kit, but a buddy of mine got a kit that had those very tires in it. Multiple rib fronts with those Goodyear rear tires. He wore those things out so fast running it on the street. Oh if we could turn back time.

I made a quite thorough research about the early Novak ESC and you might find some useful info in this thread as well: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=6488

Not to discourage you Ruffy, but it's been actually three years now that I am trying to gather the right parts for this project, ok I'm a bit picky but some of these parts are nearly impossible to find. Not even mentionning the front and rear shock towers that never went into production... Patience is a really a key word when it comes to replicating, I've learned that it almost always pays off, these things are out there, somewhere... lol
