Hello, first post here. I have an old RC-10 (not even sure exactly what type) but I am looking to find out more. The first thing I want to do is get some alloy wheels for it. I have seen the Jelly-Bean style rims on Ebay (quite pricey) and also posts about ones that pop up from time to time on there.. I am wondering if there are any other options, any potential issues I need to look out for, and if anyone happens to have any wheels they are looking (or willing) to unload!

All the alloy's you will see that fit the rc10 will be rare, wanted and pricey. Good luck and hope you find some for a good deal.

I'm willing to pay... hoping not to pay a 100 bucks, but am willing to pay a decent amount.

Most aluminum wheels for the RC10 in good shape go for a pretty penny these days. Example: Recently a set of Team Losi aluminum jelly bean wheel covers went for just over $200 on ebay. I snatched up a set for $100 myself recently, centerline wheels though.

Those jellybean ones are the cheapest alloy rims you're ever going to see.

Somewhat true, however I have seen a few sets of See's wheels lately go for real cheap compared to the usual going rate .

I purchased a set of jelly bean rims on ebay for 115. They are very high quality and use the 2.2 tires. The only draw back is you have to supply your own inner rings from a CE kit.

Thay never made a 2.2 inner ring. I don't think they ever made a 2.2 3 peace rim. Other then the 10T rim.

These are the after market rims from ebay (pargu2000) that I was talking about. You only thing you have to supply is the front inner ring from the CE rim . This set of rims are machined to fit 2.2 tires. I have prolines on these rims. These rims look great and you don't have to mess with the hard to find tire sizes . So just mount up some 2.2"s and tear up the track. You will also need the front bearings.

I apologize for my ignorace, but when you say "inner ring from CE Kit", what exactly do you mean? Thanks! I think I am going to buy the ones on ebay, but just needed some advice before dropping the cash.

If you look at the picture of the rear wheel dissasembled above there is a black inner ring that holds the tire in place with out glueing. He does not provide one for the fronts but you can glue them if you are going to use them on a runner or find inner rings from an old RC10 Championship Edition (CE) wheel and use it. The CE wheel is 2.15 I think and it is the same size that the aluminum wheel needs. It will work fine on a 2.2 tire.

a01butal did a perfect job of explaining these rims. The inner ring comes from the front rim assembly on the champ car . If you don't have a set of front rims from the champ car look on ebay they seem to come up for sale quite often. Here is a pic of what they look like.Just take apart the rim and use the inner ring. The ebay rims come with all the hardware except for the ring and front bearings . Im not sure of the bearing size but someone will read this a provide the correct bearing size.Don't worry about not knowing the parts on a RC10 I sometimes (always)have the same problem. That is why RC10talk is the best site for information there is always someone there to help . If your looking to get the rims on ebay he has just two sets left.

You might still find the odd set of JPS alloys around, who knows if you sweet talk them you might even get them to sell you a set but don't hold your breath .

Do the locking rings actually work on those rims anyway? I tried some modern tyres on the RC10T with 3 piece rims and the tyres just rip the bead out the gap because they're so soft.
