Very nice, I'm planning on a similar project eventually, but using an Optima rear end mated to an aluminum pan with a custom front end bolted on.

Nope, I have 3 already...I want to do something different with the pile 'o' parts I have accumulated over the years.

Just get to it

Start with a picture of the parts pile - then there´s no way back

It's only in the conceptualization stage now, and I want to wrap up a few things with Barney before moving onto something new. I don't want to be one of those guys with 2 dozen unfinished cars lying around.

That's a cool looking project. Like the blue chassis, gold shocks, and those alloy wheels together.

The shock towers are Schumacher, the rear one is modified a bit.
The blue tub is from a Outlaw
Rampage Pro (kyosho nitro)
Gearbox, arms, shocks, rear bulkhead and driveline is from an Ultima.
Front bulkhead is homemade from a die hard clear plastic type which ie is used for forrest harvestry machine windows (can catch a chain saw chain at full speed without tearing or breaking)
The rims are ultima based scale car rims, the front ones narrowed a bit.

I actually had blue shocks fitted on the Ultima based one
But being non Japanese quality I had to pull them of again.

Not to break down on the intrest level of this custom built, but I'd like to see a thread with pics of the mrc.
I had a big poster with pics of the Santanas predecessor in my room even before I got my first car (boomerang) if I remember the timing well.
