Re: Anyone tried this? Yellowed parts white
it's very sunny at my place today, so i tossed half a stealth case in a jar with straight peroxide. we'll see what it looks like later tonight.

Re: Anyone tried this? Yellowed parts white
i have put the stealth half and the truck arm back in some fresh non diluted 3%hp solution for the day. i also have a second jar with the orange carrier and a red body mount (yes both dyed). i also picked up some 35%hp solution. it would save alot of money buying it online over the cost of it at a health food store. i will try it out later on and see how a stronger solution does. i will post more pics in the next few days.

i bet if the hydrogen peroxide solution is heated with the nylon parts, it will probably absorb better giving a better white, nylon usually absorbs dye better when the part itself is at a hotter temp also.

Re: Anyone tried this? Yellowed parts white
alright, so the case half on the right has been soaking in a glass jar, in the sun, in straight peroxide, for 8 hours. this is the best pic i can get to show a comparison. in person, it is noticably whiter than the other. it didn't do anything for the dye stains though.

Re: Anyone tried this? Yellowed parts white
ok just to update on the dyed parts i have soaking. there is zero change in the parts. the orange rear carrier is still the exact same shade of orange and the red body mount is also unchanged. so this method will NOT lighten dyed parts. but as shown it does help on the yellowed parts. our forecast for the next 2 days here is rain. is has been over cast most of the day but even when the sun can't be seen there is uv rays. is any of you have those uv reactive lenses in your glasses you should already know this. i dont but the wife does so i have been borrowing her glasses throughout the day.
my rear arm and trans half is still soaking in the 3% solution. i will be letting it soak the couple days to see how it does. i have propped up 2 uv cold cathode tubes on each side of the glass so it will be getting the needed uv rays. pics will come after i pull them out.

Re: Anyone tried this? Yellowed parts white
i picked up 5 large 32oz bottles of the 3% at walmart today for .99 cents each. the 35% i bought was a little over $20 for a 24oz bottle. i will use it sparingly
the normal 16oz? bottles at walmart were marked .59 cents each if you just want to spend as little as possible to try it out.

i used the 3% stuff, but didn't dilute it with anything. just straight out of the bottle.

Re: Anyone tried this? Yellowed parts white
Can this be true? Do we finally have a "how to make white parts whiter" thread?
Now, where is that old jar?

Re: Anyone tried this? Yellowed parts white
Wow awesome news here!
On a side note, I was wondering if any of you would have a solution to make white parts white again?

i wonder what would happen if you tried this in an ultrasonic cleaner ? the bubbling action combined with the vibration should either speed up the process or magnify it, mabey.
