Well.....
I kept telling myself NO but finally gave in. A friend gave me some money to order some stuff to fix up their kids slash, so I also added my stuff to the order as well to save on shipping. I couldn't resist Towers $40 discount and $14 shipping. Not bad for a LCG slash chassis, big bore shocks and all my stuff to boot.

I'm more partial to tub chassis trucks but the blue pan is better suited to an electric conversion in my opinion. Also the blue pans are stronger and have the nose already stamped with the chassis, plus I already had the chassis.

This will probably be a slow going build for me as I'll buy stuff as I have a few extra bucks to spare.

If you find that the blue chassis is still a little to confining for your layout. I still have some of that exact alum as the chassis I made and sold you. With the right shape and the break on the sides like the blue chassis it should be very sturdy. Let me know if youd like some of it I'll hook you up

We'll see how it goes, hopefully it comes out nice and not a hack job with batteries zip tied in and stuff.

Thanks Todd, I think the layout I have planned will work quite well. I will definately be in touch if I need some material.

I will likely use saddle packs and a Hobbywing 4000kv short course motor and ESC. Should have plenty of power without being over the top. I like the simplicity of sensorless for this truck but the temptation of dynamic timing with a sensored system is also playing on my mind, so I haven't made up my mind.

Anyways, here is my awesome start to this build.....

With truck nose tubes discontinued and not wanting to pay an arm and a leg for old stock, I decided to make my own from re-re worlds tubes. It was surprisingly easy and the supply of tubes is now endless.

Once my first order of parts arrive I can tear into this build. I should have just bought a complete truck to start with

I'm expecting to see at least something come off your bench as I noticed two mounts were sold from my watch list

See! its working already

Parts have slowly been trickling in for this but not enough to complete any one thing About the only thing I could finish was the transmission. I still have another slipper plate on the way to make it a 4 pad slipper.

Once the motor mount arrives I can figure out where everything will be mounted on the chassis such as batteries etc. I'm almost positive I need to try and track down a Trinity transmission brace, or the damper hobby ebay special thing.
