FWIW i don't think the diff will fit an m05.
I know, I ordered a m03 diff and it showed up in ta03 packaging from tamiya, I cross examined the m03/m05 ball diffs and they are the same according to parts exploded diagram. I then looked over the m03...
Being a big World War and tank fan this was an easy purchase. I don't do models but since this is a motorized model, I should be able to convert it to RC. It's only 1/35 scale so it's small, but...
So, I am working on getting an original Frog up and running. I am doing some suspension mods that basically revolve around getting some better shocks on the rear and making a front shock tower for the front. I have four blue You-G...
HI!... It was nice out today so I decided to do a little BigWig photoshoot. These are my Tamiya BigWigs. One of my all time favorite Tamiya cars. Bought a new one when I was 12. And yes, there are 9 of them.

Check this out, tell me this wasn't Bigwig inspired!
totally awesome
I am surprised no one has bid on it yet... 8) It is pretty cool looking!

HI!... This is Tamiya BigWig #6. This one will have a ton of after market parts that were designed for the BigWig. This is what I got put together so far. Waiting on some more parts to show up.
HI!... Got some work done on BigWig #6 this weekend. Bought a driver figure and got him painted up and mounted in the body. Also got some BigWig decals applied to the body.
HI!... I just recently obtained a NIB Rothman's Porsche 956. This one will be built but will spend the rest of it's life as a shelf queen. Check out the vintage build section for a build up of this car. :cheer:...
I started with a M05 4 w/d 4 w/s offroad chassis I did last year. I joined 2 M05 front sections. Converted back to front steering but kept the 4 w/d. Now using 2 Tamiya torqued tuned motors and Tekin fx esc. HPI widened Fuchs wheels w/HPI vintage...
Im new to the brushless motor/esc thing, I have a trf 201 with a tamiya tble02s and a atomik 8.5 4400 kv motor. Had it geared with the stock spur which I believe is 69 teeth and a 22 pinion the car went good and the esc was warm to the touch, so I...

Gearing up will put more load on the motor and ESC.
Lets say you have a 10 tooth pinion on the motor and the internal gearing means it take 10 rotations of the motor to turn the wheels once. If you replace the pinion with a much bigger 20 tooth...
A couple of progress shots. M-05 front section, custom rear section. Brushless motor & esc, custom wheels & rear suspension. 3Racing 0 degree hubs (2 lefts), custom front & rear shocks. HPI mini body. I had to move the rear wheels forward about 5mm...

I stayed with the stock arms and mounted the stock mini tires on the same rim, much better.
Sometimes You just need some skulls and blue flames
Got this one the other day.
It´s a fine truck but the motors described as pullers, won´t even pull the skin of a thin sauce.
This thing needs LiPo and some low turn motors.
Im getting back into rc after a 20 year absence, got married had 3 kids, put myself through college, got a good job, got seperated from wife had to move back home etc. After my best friend gave me a kyosho triumph that was a basket case and I...

I like the Tamiya ESC's very much - I have had no problems with them.
I use several (101BK, 104BK, 103BK (dual motor),
I use silver-can or black-can (Sport Tuned) motors, and 2s LiPo batteries.
I have had no issues with excessive heat or any other...
HI!... Well this will be Tamiya BigWig #5. This one will be a full restoration built to stock out of the box condition, except the body will not be the traditional Blue/White. I'm going to go a Metallic Black/White combination. This is what I have...

HI!... Lol, I'm currently working on BigWig #9 right now.
It's a Tamiya M02 chassis, their first rear wheel drive mini chassis.
While it is branded as Tamiya, it was produced by the German importer Carson, the body and wheels aren't up to Tamiya standard because they were made by Carson themselves.
This was a trade with another member (thanks R Cane!) and due to short hours at work it will take a while to finish, but I thought I would put up some pics of where it's headed. I have some bolink onroad conversion wheels and foamies, and probably...
Running a 1/18th scale TamTech Fox (GB01 Chassis) with a newly installed Turnigy 5800kv system on 2S.
Melted the diff after about 3 packs, I assumed the slipper was what was slipping but I was obviously mistaken.
I ordered the last two diffs...

Lol, I'm not surprised :) :) :)
Right now I'm running her a bit gently in lockup mode, was just wondering if someone else who might have experience with these chassis might know of either a way to fabricate a slipper that will fit, or of a drop in...
Hi all, just about finished my original Super Shot, need to apply more stickers, it is also fitted with some period hop up options, Race Prep shocks, Slipper drive shaft, front one way diff and You-g bumper, also i haven't decided what wheels to...

Hi all, thanks for the comments, finally finished the Super Shot, gone with the gold wheels.
I broke a wing mount on my Tamiya TL-01B (long arm / off-road (Buggy) version of the TL-01);
I believe this chassis was offered as the Baja King, and Baja Champ.
I have a question about the parts tree(s) that include this wing mount.
I found one...

Things like the arms are two piece, so you get one front and one rear assembly. Camber and sterring links, battery holders, etc are all one side. Front and rear bumpers iirc are the same on some.
This one is pretty much unharmed. All it needed was some new paint, so in the brakefluid tub it went.
The new paint ended up foggy after hardening, so after 5 coats with the same result, I took it to the boilerroom and...

Here's a helpful video on a Hilux getting a custom paint job:
Picked it up at a LHS that I had never been to before. Was only 149...until he showed me the upgrade rack and it ballooned to over 400 with taxes
But I'm really stoked to try out this fwd chassis. Going to do the usual lipo and brushless...

I should post some pictures (if I can find them...the car is in a box in a rather inaccessible place) of my FULL OPTIONS M-01M. The thing is mostly aftermarket parts  Kose carbon chassis, Tech Racing gearboxes, loads of alloy...Honda S-MX...
Just picked up a RC-10 A stamp runner to rebuild and got a Grasshopper with it. I have been thinking about the ones I had back in the day. If I remember correctly The buggy didn't jump or steer for anything. I remember everything was broken off or...

We have a Hopper and a Hornet. Powered by a RS-540 and a cheap 6 cell is all you need to have some fun. My Hornet is one of my favorite runners.
Hi everyone - so much like when I started out with the Sand Scorcher project, I'm a complete and total newb with the Hot Shot. I picked up a re-re at a lhs for $199 - which wasn't bad so I pulled the trigger.
I've already started hoarding some...

I ever have the thorp hotshot ball diff , yes the out drive is slot to keep the swing shaft.
The plan is to freshen it up with a good cleaning and new grease.
I've found threads and scans for 4wd and SP1, but just a few pics of this one. Would love to learn more about it, especially the model name, any instruction/ad scans of it, etc. So...

Oh, so there were no 2 versions, ha ha ha, that's what I thought initially. Well MIP certainly did a good job at making these, they are really compact in nature, I like the simple rounds of the design.
I bet you came in here expecting something beat-up and abused... nope, sorry, not here!
This truck is literally never driven, never even put power to it, as far as I can tell.
I still can't believe that I own one of these in such good condition...

I'm a bit further away than you so shipping alone would be $60
Hi guys!
Found this in a local ad. Pretty much complete and undamaged. It's missing a scoop on the bonnet and the J2-part is broken, as usual on this chassis :( Really love the tire thread. And there is the usual dilemma. The paintwork is horrific...

Haha :) it's really as wide as it's long and it weighs a ton. It's a fun looking little car
I was into slot (and slotless) a good bit when I was a kid. As the tracks wore out they got pitched, but I think I still have all the cars. Most are late 70's, early '80's - 1 or 2 earlier maybe, and none later than say, 1984 or so. As I recall, I...
i am currently preparing my second fav, this time as a desert specops vehicle with additional tower. Hence i am looking for two scale looking driver and gunner figures, quality wise comparable to DAM toys 1/6 series or mcfarlane 1/10. I...
Happy to add this to my collection. Original owner started assembling in '77, gave up and put the lid back on the box, been sitting ever since. Pics are from the seller, he wished me luck in building it, said it was very frustrating!
I'm new to the Tamiya Scorpion, so hoping someone here can assist with a couple of questions. Ive recently built a re-release and really like the kit. Below are my questions/areas needing advice.

soooooo glad to see this build!!!! this is what i loved about rc back in the day. alot of people had frogs, hornets/hoppers,and other offroad buggies set up with car or truck bodies. very cool 8)
Did this one for my Nephew the other day. I spent over eight hours on the body alone, but worth the effort. He says he will never run it!

That's funny cause I did the same thing with the TA02 Opel Calibra DTM. I painted it solid black and put decals on before I realized it had overspray film. I remember pulling it off and being shocked how shiny the black paint was now.
What else can I say, its a grasshopper  Nothing too fancy, I honestly don't know if its an original or a re-re. I bought it maybe 10 years ago new in box. Added a ball bearing kit, and ran it a while with a few different motors, from the...

My 2 year old is learning with a 55T motor installed. It's the perfect speed for him to get the hang of the controls and it can't go fast enough to do any serious damage if it runs into things.
This is the older kit from Tamiya with the long a-arms. It had a reduced price.
Inside the box is also a monster RC electric conversion kit, aluminum chassis braces and losi shock diaphrams. (sorry, no pix of that stuff yet)
I have ordered AXA...
