I’m finding the threads on the big bore shocks are very hard to clean. My brushes don’t seem to be fine enough to clean the threads out.
Soak in a degreaser like purple power?
I’ve been wanting a sonic cleaner, anyone use those?
How do you clean...

CRC LectraMotive motor parts cleaner? That's what the cigar- chomping, big-bellied, peak-charging, battery-blowing-upping old guys were shooting around all up in their shock bodies at the track when I was kid.
It dawned upon me not long ago that rear hubs are the same as front bearing T4/SC10 hubs. So you can use any 3/16 rear stub axle (CVD or Bone stub axle) to convert to front hex. Just hack off the bone cup or ball joint.
You can finally use those...

With the dogbone cup removed, it would basically look like a 3/16 version of a Traxxas axle. FWIW, Traxxas vehicles don't use crush tubes on the axles. You just can't run the endplay as tight. Also, the bearings on a Traxxas (5X11X4) are much more...
So I've collected this big pile of parts and now I need to put them all together. Its a build of mainly new parts including a whole lot of trick K-Factory upgrades, the only problem is I haven't got a chassis. For the moment I'm going to steal one...

I did a bit of a shuffle with the shocks - they are now in a collection of parts called Factory Team TC3 which will one day find its way here.
These are V2 shocks with the later version of unobtanium coated shafts that are gold instead of grey....
So a local place is selling the B6.2 but I found somewhere online that has a 6.1 for a lot less, thinking of building a stock setup and wondering if there is anything major I'd miss out on, figure I can use the money saved on the kit on better...

thanks, I ended up getting the 6.1D but it has sat in the box for the past year and I am thinking of just selling my RC stuff....parts are so scarce for the 4.1 and 10.2 its not even worth running them.
I have a B6.1 Factory Lite that was was going to do some clay track racing with. Well once the car was done I took it to the track I'd have been racing at only to find my hand eye coordination wasn't what it was it used to be. After that it went on...

From what I've read so far it's short course wheelbase with the buggy width.
any width as long as the tires are covered by the body, the narrow buggy arms lets you use narrow bodies while the standard SC arms use the wider bodies....................
The last of the Associated rear motor trucks......
it will basically be a mirror build of my other truck without all of the extra goodies.
I started with a cheap low use T4.1 RTR.

I've got a Jconcepts 10T F150 body that I bought just before the more authentic version was released. I was never really a fan of the modified nose so I bought a couple of the authentic versions, the f150 version just sat in my pile of bodies. I may...
Alright I believe all of my parts to complete this build are now here. I don’t quite know why I’m even doing building this as it’s not old and I didn’t grow up wanting it. But I love nitro stadium trucks and the nitro conversion really hit home for...

Love this truck, excellent job. I've been eyeing these conversions off for a while, I'd love a gas truck one day, but think I'd prefer an earlier GT, but 1 of these to be able to have a run with would definitely be cool
I am getting around to ordering final components for my DR10 kit, and I am on batteries now. Is this modern age of 6000mah+ lipos, it seems like a lot of people are running this type of 2S in their no prep cars. But when I think of 1:1 drag cars,...

If the C ratings are to be trusted, and using some numbers posted above, that means the 6200 (6.2a) at 120c would be capable of a 744a discharge rate. The 4750 (4.75a) at 175c would be capable of a 831a discharge rate. This season we ran gens ace...
What happened to all these hear boxes? Anyone used these in the past or still have any? I've been looking into them and they are non existent these days.
There's a new shop not too far from my place. They have a few slot car tracks, and an indoor carpet oval..... also an outdoor dirt oval that they finished just before winter hit. A few guys I raced with back in the day race there. One of them is the...
I'm hoping to spark up some interest in rc drag racing in southern Oregon. This is my first drag car build. It is based on the Team Associated B5M/SC5M platform. For those of you not familiar with this class of car, Its basically a 2wd buggy that is...
Does anyone have one of these? If so post some pics. It looks almost like a B3.

Sorry to bump and old thread, but i just now saw the comment about the chassis being too long. I have a fix for it if someone still has these cars. I have released an 3D printable chassis with two versions. First one is stock length and second is...
I have an odd request. Does anyone have any exploded diagrams of the B5 & B5M? I got 2 boxes of parts in a trade, and I was told it's B3/T3, B5 & B5M stuff. I feel I have all the B/T3 stuff removed. I'm trying to sort the B5M/B5 stuff. I'd really...
I just got a cheap Surpass 17t motor & 60a esc combo for my Ultima. The motor wires are not attached and I want to make sure I set them up so the blue wire on the motor connects to the blue wire on the esc. I know where to connect them, just not...

If I had just seen the + on the end I would have been good. After I saw it I felt like an idiot for coming on here and asking  Now to get it wired up and installed. I've had this Ultima for months and it hasn't had a first run.

With No Prep rc drag racing growing rapidly here in southern Oregon, I decided to build my second attempt at a drag car build. I wanted sort of a sleeper . Anyone looking to see what I'm running will, at first glance, see it's just another Traxxas...

RC drag racing seems to grind to a halt up here in the northwest in winter, but some of us are still out here grinding it out on the cold asphalt. I made this pass yesterday on 40 degree asphalt.
Okay here’s a random one. I bought this car because I’ve always liked the looks of the gas on road cars growing up. Always wanted a Serpent Impact even though I would’ve just destroyed it tearing up and down the street. This was on ebay for super...
I have recently got into the mini rc scene with a couple of scx24's. Built the indoor course to run them on and been having a lot of fun with that. So bought a 2nd scx24 a few weeks ago to convert into a rock bouncer. Been collecting parts for it...
Maybe i'm just being too nostalgic but after coming back to the hobby after decades I'm not too impressed the aesthetic evolution of RC buggies. If you stand back and look at how the arrangement of shock towers, the car looks like a 4 poster bed....

I am in agreement, most modern buggy bodies don’t look good. I prefer the vintage rc car bodies like the RC10 Mirage. However, there is one vintage rc car body that I have never liked—the Parma Eagle. It’s so ugly!
I can't believe I am starting another project, and I still have to finish my clod tuber lol. That one will be done soon though. Calling this one Superbeast because that is what I named my (real 1:1) 69 GTO drag car years ago because I always loved...

Dangerous thing, but I got to thinking today while browsing eBay. Has anyone tried fitting current 10th scale big bore springs to older 8th scale shocks...? I know most were a 13mm inner bore but I wonder if the spring diameters would be close...
I picked this up off Ebay a month or so ago.... dirt cheap. It even came with a new, unbuilt set of big bores. Those are being saved for a future 10t build.
The b4 arms showed up yesterday so it's time to tear it down, clean it up and build it back...

Thanks. I'm sure I'll have some setup questions for you.
I know there has been some controversy over this truck. I have watched quite a few youtube videos on it and decided to shop around. My interest was piqued further when I found I could buy it in kit form without all the cheap crappy rtr electrics....

Been following this thread. Finally signed up to the forum.
I snapped my hub mount recently Dadio, made one out of thicker stainless steel. Zero flex now.
So I picked up this Team C Racing TC02CST stadium truck rolling chassis. It's complete with the exception of a spur gear and slipper clutch. The style looks very similar to an RC10B6 slipper, where the top shaft has two opposing sides...
This one started as the white jeep scx24 but has changed quite a bit now in the few weeks I have owned it. I designed a cantilever rear suspension for it which gives it tones of travel even with the stock shocks. Body is a Lindberg 1/20 scale 95...

I don't have a local hobby shop anymore so things like this are harder.
I have an old sc10 4x4 that runs on 12mm hex's.
Will a set of new monster truck wheels and tires bolt on and fit? are there any considerations I need to worry about?

The Proline Monster Fusion body lets you use 2.8 wheels/tires without having to cut the fenders of a regular SC body.
Then just pick out your choice of tires and you're ready to go.
Not a necessary item, but might be something you're interested...
Picked up an RTR DR10 today at the hobby shop. They had a few hop ups for B5 that I picked up also. I’m running a 3s lipo and with the Stock 3300kv I wish it was faster. Having said that I’m still happy with it. I want try faster brushless set ups...

Nice lookin' DR10. I've been kickin' around the idea of getting into a drag car myself as a new project maybe this winter. Not to get into club racing, but just like you, just to overpower it and have some fun with.
I have purchased a b4 buggy and the rear shocks are different from the front how do I determine what shocks I have so I can order parts??

If your shocks are leaking, odds are they just need new o-rings. I think all remaining parts for these shocks have been discontinued.
Shafts and o-rings are still available directly from AE.
I recently picked up several sets of the gray threaded...
Hi folks. Recently been itching to get a 1/8 scale 4x4 buggy for a backyard basher (we also have a motocross track we take our r/c's to at the local fairgrounds). There's no competitive racing near by so I don't do any racing. I recently purchased a...

The big rig carpet puller? It's still a work in progress. After obsessing about it for over a year, I became burned out and had to put it aside to focus on something else for a while. That ended up...
So with parts being so hard to get I have started thinking it might be time to dump my B4.1 and SC10.2 as I just don't see myself using them, I got all the pieces to swap the 4.1 to hex but don't want to bother installing them as it just seems not...

Hi, I just received this B5m Conversion chassis. I bought it in Spain and i don't have information about it. Seems custom build, using b44 parts or similar.
do you know any info something about this conversion?. Redworkshop maybe?....
I like the new losi 22 5.0 elite it reminds me of my 90’s losi xx cr kinwald as it has a few ques taken from the original. Only thing I don’t race or know any tracks. Would it be silly to use it on a large open grass field with a 8.5 brushless?

So, I picked up a couple new batteries for my 2006-ish E-Maxx and it would not run. It hasn't been run since about 2014 or so. I didnt remember any crazy breakage the last time it was run...but who knows?
Now it flat out will not move on it's own....

Sounds like we have nearly identical Emaxx trucks. I think the Novak system is a great option for this truck, though I do still have concerns for the life expectancy of the gearbox and differential internals. I still run the stock plastic axles and...
I've thought about doing a fun basher monster truck in the style of the old kyosho nitro USA-1, where I use a 1/8 buggy platform as a base for a monster truck.
I didn't want it to look like some of the more modern monster truck bashers which use...
