Re: Plan B RC10T3 Race Truck

More bits turned up, some hopefully go fast bearings...

As well as a few other things like screws and turnbuckles but they aren't very exciting, I guess the same could be said about bearings though.....

Re: Getting the big Fairlane back on the road.... Going the whole 9 inches

Springs are done and test fit.... There was a little bit of an unexpected consequence for rebuilding the spring packs that I never thought about, but makes perfect sense. Replacing the 45 year old spring slipper pads with new ones put a little more arch back into the springs, so it will be interesti...

Re: Were there any changes from 7444 to 9824?

Most likely the addition of the holes in the shock tower valley and likely being made of a more plastic like material.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Not all today but I picked up the T3 rear chassis plate this afternoon. I wanted black chassis plates for a box stock truck but somehow ended up with blue ones

I was going to use the blue GT set but I'm not so sure now.....

Re: Plan B RC10T3 Race Truck

Not very exciting at the moment but the front end (Bag A and B) is finished. The turnbuckles are early AE titanium and many of the screws are silver aluminium. I also replaced the plastic bushings in the steering rack with bearings. And dust covers because..... well..... they make you faster  ...

Re: Plan B RC10T3 Race Truck

I started working on the back of the truck and not everything goes smoothly  lol. I bought a custom works slipper eliminator top shaft and slipper eliminator, checked the weights and when I went to put it together I found out that CW must have done away with the trans spacers. All is not lost ...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

Huh, painting the polycarbonate on the inside would make any flat paint glossy.... It won't flake off the outside any more than the inside. I'm not so sure I agree with Tamiya on that one. For what it's worth Horizon says outside. https://www.horizonhobby.com/product/polycarbonate-ps-55-flat-clear-s...

Re: Getting the big Fairlane back on the road.... Going the whole 9 inches

Are you doing any of the old racer tricks, like clamping the leaves in front of the axle and un-clamping the rear? Sorry, I didn't see your post. Probably not at this stage as I bought a set of tramp rod brackets which sort of 4 link the rear. It's a pretty simple but clever idea, I like the fact t...
