Re: The tale of 3 builds -OR- How projects multiply mysteriously

Nice!

When you did the dye, did you boil the parts? I'd make sure to boil any of the remaining ones that aren't dyed too. Traxxas nylon seems to get brittle. I wouldn't use the white rod ends either. They seem to be the weakest

Re: Painted up a body for my T4

Thanks guys. Like Todd I used to watch this sort of stuff on TV all the time.

My favorite was when TNN motorsport was on non stop Friday nights, everything from swamp bugies, to stadium trucks to monster trucks and more.

Re: The tale of 3 builds -OR- How projects multiply mysteriously

I have heard that associated shock caps can fit on traxxas and vice versa. Might be worthwhile to try swapping a black plastic cap on there. also, in case you are interested, I think strc racing makes a top shaft that accepts a B4 slipper setup. its for a slash, but I believe it drops in. http://www...

Re: The tale of 3 builds -OR- How projects multiply mysteriously

that's a LOT of traxxas goodness on this thread!!! Lovely 80's color schemes, paint jobs, dies, and all... Yes, AE caps fit on trx shocks, there isn't much threading available though, so be careful. Other solution if you don't like the blue cap accents is do deano them with over cleaner, bare alumin...

Re: RC10 bodies on the NIX10M

I destroyed the old Protech so had to get a new one. I like how it fits but next time will try something else.

Re: RC10 Factory Works C2 "Tuber" Build

I got the battery (shorty lipo) holdown sorted out today. All I'm lacking is to mark and drill the 4 holes in the chassis plate to mount it. I used an Exotek brand #1827 system from AMain with a couple of mods and some 10mm tall hex stand offs. It looks pretty slick. You will be able to adjust it fo...

Re: ** What's Old is New Tech Thread **

B44 cvds require some shimming adjustments with the hub carrier, the rpm one or losi/cw. The b4 is few mm longer so you need b4 hub carriers and some shimming.

Wowser JK...you went all in on this traxxas endeavor now. I think you have actually personally shifted the availability of the TRX1 worldwide...I haven't been able to pick up another one lately to save my life :D

Re: The tale of 3 builds -OR- How projects multiply mysteriously

Well, phooey on that. In a strange way it's nice to see these getting broken on dirt.

Don't run a Thorp gearset on turf with the slipper locked out either. There is probably a quicker way to grenade a top gear, but I haven't found one.

Neat stuff JK.

Re: Traxxas 1 (=TRX-1) [Ready to Race]

I just got the RPM front arms, but shimmed back like yours, I hit the chassis :( - but the bigger problem is the arms are longer than the stock TRX1 arms, making the front end too wide overall, almost a complete inch (20mm or so) wider than my other cars (legal width). How did you combat the width ...
