Re: Losi JRX Pro SE build

Rear end assembled and installed onto the chassis. Using Lunsford retro turnbuckles and RPM ends. I was planning to use these cool vintage grey units, but remembered they are for a larger diameter HD thread. RPM rear carrier and chassis brace finish off the slider.

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)

I spoke with Curtis yesterday, we are all good. Ultimately they did what I wanted to do- molded parts, refinements, etc that only a company with money could do. That's definitely taking the high road. You must not have gone to the Traxxarse School of RC Business. Glad to have you around though. Hop...

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)

I'm not going to lie, I would rather put my money where my mouth is and buy the conversion from you. At best, I'll send you an order for some parts instead of buying this release. Same here, I maybe late to the party, but I'd buy a conversion as well. I have already supported AE with the CC and 40t...

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)

I most certainly can always make another run, but you cant beat the price of the new kit. The thing I had been considering is running more of the aluminum pulleys and maybe the front end parts, tensioner etc. Whatever it is, I need it to be something that will sell or else I have just sunk more mone...

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)

So in the early part of my career, I was an automation designer and then factory designer. During this time I was granted 8 US patents for my work. I can tell you, co-workers, bosses, suppliers, and competitors will copy and take credit for good ideas. You see it in the movie Silicon Pirates (Apple,...

Re: Back In My Day ..................

Being 45 and growing up in SE WI...the highlights of childhood were Mini bikes/small engines, skyway mags, staring at the wall of BMX candy (pegs and parts) at the local bike shop, tower hobbies, freedom to roam, popping the hood on moms 86 Cutlass to charge the battery for my Raider, hanging out at...

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)

They use the same belt, the only way to get there is to have pretty exact component locations and pulley tooth count. It's incredibly hard to get within 1.5mm on accident   That's fuc*ed. It's not like they didn't have the resources to make a novel solution. It's one thing to run you ou...

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)

Fun fact my buddy is some sort of an high flying electrical engineer at a national lab and has a need for lots of hex drivers in their lab. All the guys there use them and when I met them they didn't really know of the MIP RC connection just that the tools were the "best quality" they eve...

Jrx Pro of my youth

Along with the Jrxt body that I rescued from my folks' house, a Jrx Pro body returned home. The original chassis was given to another family member, so I'll have to build up a new chassis to sit under the body. I've had this basket case, mismatched buggy in storage for many years. Much like the Jrx2...
