Re: Associated 05 modified
Directly quoting a previous post from motor guru Mike Haswell.... '...when they ran 1/12th with gas/IC engines they couldn't exceed 0.5 size engines (most ran with 0.49) and then when electric came along that was the term coined for the motors that met with the ROAR regulations for the class as most...

Re: Associated 05 modified
It's no real help figuring out turns/winds, but there are 3 Reedy "Modified 05" motors listed in the Edinger Catalog:
#6505 called a Club Racer
#6510 called a Standard
#6511 called a Sprint (for dirt oval tracks)
In the Cadillac catalog #6510 is renamed to Road, and #6511 to Oval.

RC250 - No body type yet
Today I received an Associated RC250 Club Racer via UPS even though i promised myself i wouldn't get any more cars  . I couldn't help myself. It is a cool looking sample, especially considering the age, just needing a few items to get it running. It will need some effort in cleaning to make it...

Dogbone and CVD measurements
I was thinking there should be a place to get easy reference to know the measurements of buggy and truck dogbones and CVDs. I've got RC10 and B4; RC10T, T2, T3, and T4; Custom Works short and schmedium. This seems like a good starting point. I'm not sure though it there are standard measurement refe...

Trinity Revolver 12 Magic Carpet Ride
I've wanted one of these for a long time and finally found one that wasn't in the best condition. But I tore it down to clean the rusty hardware and removed super glue globs that were on and around the edge of the chassis. I added new body posts, Magic spur gear, fiberglass rollover antenna, purple ...

Brushed motor rehab
I'm throwing this together at the request of another member. This is just some of the stuff that I do, so take it for what it is. If someone has any ideas to add, please do so. I rummaged through my stuff and found this crusty Peak Racing 12X2. It looks like a good candidate. Screenshot_20220416-133...

Re: Brushed motor rehab
Somehow I skipped a step. There must be too many images because it wouldn't let me add more.
After painting the can, before reassembling the endbell, I polished the brush hoods. I used a rotary tool with a nylon brush wheel, with Brasso.

Re: Now people can't stop talking about the 1/12th Fantom 4wd re-re!!! :)
What are differences between this and other rere fantom other than the shock? This one is based on the second generation Fantom. The chassis flexes at the rear, hence the shock whereas the first gen Fantom chassis flexes at the front at the servo saver. The major differences between this one and th...
