Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - October 2024 ** - Winner - TheDiamondOne

Entering my Kyosho Pro-XRT stadium truck. Picked this up early 2021 and spent a little over a year collecting needed parts before starting the build process. Finished the build and installed electronics a couple years back, and just recently finished the body which is a TBG repro with MCI decals. Tr...

Re: Vulgar Display Of Power (updated pics 4/3)

Ordered stuff Sunday and it arrived in short order. Paint scheme might pre-date the car a bit but I'm ok with that. Hope to find time to ice down a few beers and paint it this weekend. 😎

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - October 2024 ** - Winner - TheDiamondOne

This is one of those months where I want to be able to have multiple votes. The front suspension on that Marui Hunter is very cool. Arrgh! So many good options!

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - October 2024 ** - Winner - TheDiamondOne

Gonna take you back to an very important car in my rc history. 1989. This was my ultima that was modified as much as my budget for a 16 year old could afford mowing lawns (which i still do to this day for a living). Our local track converted to dirt oval. It was a very loamy heavily watered soil so...

Re: Vulgar Display Of Power (updated pics 4/3)

Well, unfortunately it's too windy to paint today. I went thru some totes looking for a nice Johnson. . Found one and ironically found the original Mamba Max 5700 first. The Johnson will fit in the rear nicely, but first run, I may use this Paradox I came across. It performed nicely on the Pr...

What is the RC story behind Rear Toe-In?

What was the first RC buggy to include rear toe-in as part of its mechanical design? Was the Yokomo 834B the only RC buggy to have won without any rear toe-in? Did Gil Losi Jr. ever think about implementing it into his 4WD at the 1985 IFMAR worlds? He must have known some of the tuning benefits of t...

Re: What is the RC story behind Rear Toe-In?

To throw a rant in, the evolution to "what works" though is how you end up with a bunch of race cars today that are all virtually identical. There is a fastest way for sure but not necessarily the most interesting way when it comes to design.

Re: What is the RC story behind Rear Toe-In?

Totally agree. Things are fairly boring today compared to the interesting ideas and concepts of yesteryear. Its one of the reasons I'll always be faithful to Tamiya. They still do some things differently.
