Re: Who remembers the Chrysler Turbine car?

Best car ever made..period...not an opinion..FACT! Said no one ever, about a Chrysler product (at least, not anyone who has ever had one). The closest thing they have is Jeep, and the best Jeeps were when AMC owned them. AMC design carried on into the I6 4.0, which wasn't horrible. MOPAR did make s...

Re: Who remembers the Chrysler Turbine car?

Fans of the 1963 Chrysler Turbine show car will find this interesting. I'm a Dodge fanatic and thought I knew all about Chargers, but I did NOT know about the 1964 Charger show car that pre-dated the first year of the first-gen Chargers. Check out the 1964 Charger concept car. Notice any similaritie...

Re: Brush Painting Aluminum/Chrome Details inside Lexan - First Attempt

I always use WD-40 to remove tape residue. Try it on an inconspicuous paint area first, but I don't think WD-40 will have any effect on paint, and washes away with some dish soap and warm water.

Re: Tips For Painting Headlights?

Another option that's a bit off-topic as it's not about painting: Make some stickers instead of painting the lights. I did that with some of my cars, including my Buick GN 1/12 car and a cool Ford Escort RS1800 body for a car I built for my daughter. I just found good, hi-res photos on the internet ...

Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-) - and a Galaxy RS too :)

It looks like somebody tacked on a wing from a 1:14-scale buggy.

I love your rendering work, though...very impressive. I wish I could do that. 8)

Re: Inter-Fab Viper EX-10

I can weigh in on this issue of printing on clear sticker paper as well. I had terrible results too, as morrisey0 said. The colored/red areas were too transparent and became almost invisible when applied to a dark painted body. I got much better results making my own sticker images with a black back...

Re: Another Marui project - Ninja/Shogun

That Coors T-Bird body looks fantastic. I'm not a fan of the Shogun box-art though. The silver and gold just don't seem to go well together.

Agreed, that driver head looks about as realistic as you could get!

Grendel resurrected

Here are some progress pics of Grendel's resurrection. She's been in body & paint since just after Christmas 2023. I never liked the original EF8 olive green color, but I wanted to remain true to her green roots--while doing something nobody has done before. Spent hours googling green-painted ca...

Re: we all have big toys too don't we? show off your ride!

What's the status on the Charger? It'll hopefully be out of body & paint soon, but then...there's so much to do. Install new carpets, get seats either reupholstered or replaced with something more modern (whichever is more cost effective), reassemble interior, install new fuel tank and stainles...

Re: we all have big toys too don't we? show off your ride!

Unfortunately, today's shops can't even fix modern vehicles, let alone handle 40+ year old technology. They just don't have the knowledge OR the equipment to work on carburated vehicles, you've got to find either an old timer's shop or a specialty shop, or, do the work yourself. Sad but true. I lea...

Re: TAG Navajo (Pro)

That body looks really good for being painted on the outside. Did you clearcoat it? I'm not familiar with this car but the body looks pretty cool, aside from the front shock mount...
