Re: Thinking about dyno's for brushed motors

It just occurred to me that a side bonus of this setup is you can set the voltage real low and use it to break in new motor brushes until they're seated properly. 8)

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Yeah, send me either the 240S or the 480T...your choice!

I one day want to add those to my collection, I'm missing those 2.

Reset/calibrate generic 120A v2.3 brushless waterproof ESC

I'm sure you guys have seen these particular ESC's all over the 'net. I happen to have 2 of them. 120A v2.3 generic waterproof brushless ESC's. I can't for the life of me figure out how the hell to calibrate & reset these things! Unlike a bazillion earlier versions of this same ESC that have a r...

Re: Solder station recommendations.

Gotcha. The crap that came with the station said .8mm thick on the spool, which is equal to the .031" (or 1/32") stuff I had on my shopping list. I'm guessing you likely have .062" solder (1/16" thick). Switched my shopping list to the .062" thick business. I can confirm th...

Re: Feeling dumb: How the F do you reset/calibrate ESC

Since nobody had an answer for this, I hope this info will help anyone else who might have or purchase one of these generic 120A v2.3 waterproof ESC's. This thing was driving me crazy because, searching high & low all over the internets, I could NOT find the correct programming info, or even a w...

Re: Reset/calibrate generic 120A v2.3 brushless waterproof ESC

Update: Here's the program card I'm talking about. Since the ESC has no manual way to be programmed or reset, you NEED the program card to change anything from default settings. Frustratingly, few of the ESC's that this card is compatible with include the card with the ESC, or even mention it. :roll...

Re: Turbo Optima Re-Re Transmission

I took it out for the first off-road mission, and everything was great ... (though still too slow) Anyway, it looks like too much gunk got stuck in the belt drive area... Should there be that little opening? Any ideas for keeping more of the dirt out of there? I guess I'll just put a piece of tape ...

Re: RC12L NIB

If it gives you sufficient pleasure to stare at it on a shelf, leave it. :P

The only fun I get from an RC kit is building it, then possibly running it. I'm not into resale value, collecting or hoarding, mind you...

Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)

Your chassis plate looks to be an SE as the screw holes are countersunk. I believe the Platinum shocks were also an SE option (not an upgrade though, IMO...the Gold shocks were the best). Condition? I've seen FAR worse than that. Looking forward to the resto.

Well, in that scenario, you won't be playing with the woman, but you'd definitely be playing with something else...

Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)

The end result will definitely be worth the elbow grease, Chuck. Polished aluminum just has a classiness that you don't get with chrome plating.
