Re: Disable Ignition

I think I found the culprit. I was under the hood for an unrelated reason and noticed that the plastic engine cover sat rather loosely in it's moorings and had that flutter/rattle kind of noise to it. I pulled it off about a month ago and haven't heard the noise since. I reinstalled it today, adding...

Re: RC10Talk - Celebrating 18 Years!

Wowser, Justinspeed79 and Halgar stopped by. Good to see you both still popping in once in awhile. 8) Todd Don't get used to it, it's a long walk down from high off the mount! :?  With the demise of CT, I'm just glad that we still have a gathering place. Thanks for that. 8)

Re: 11 years smoke free

Congrats! I quit smoking in '96 after about 12-13 years. Came back to it for a few months in '14 and have been smoke free since. Both times was cold turkey. The first time was definitely the hardest, not because I was addicted to the nicotine, but the ritual of smoking and the trappings aroun...

Re: Bored? Come To The Chit / Chat Thread

Off topic chats are food for the soul. They help keep the main topics on track, while giving everyone a place for random commentary and frivolity! 8) We had them at Clodtalk and I've made a point to get them instated on other forums I frequent. It's also a place for us former (insert forum genre her...

Re: RIP Ernie Provetti (Trinity)

What was Ernie like? Seemed like a garrulous, friendly, larger-than-life kind of character. Looks like he could be intimidating if he was mad lol. I only know him through the old school RC magazine photos from old. He was pretty gruff and take no prisoners on his forum in the early days. Don't know...

Re: Things that irritate you

Myself? I am perfect.  Well, that goes without saying!   I think most "sane" drivers feel this way, and by sane, I mean those of us that are completely aware of how to operate a vehicle, what the different lanes of the highway are for, how to use a turn signal,...

Re: Things that irritate you

Lorry (truck) racing on motorways , over here in the UK we have a 60mph speed limit for Lorry's on the motorway , all Lorry's have a govoner to stop them going faster , over on the continent it's almost the same but it's in Kph , almost the same as in its actually 58mph , so some Lorry's that do in...

Re: Things that irritate you

More irritating things: Electronics - Everything these days has a microchip in it. There is no standard - everybody has their own idea of how it should be done. No common sense used in the design, or at least not designed for the end user in mind. Unclear and/or none-existent instructions for use. C...

Re: Turned 40 today...

And while I'm not old yet, it's painfully obvious that I'm not young anymore. Funny how that happens! Invincible in your 20's, realizing you're not invincible in your 30's, start feeling the body not being as willing or forgiving as it used to be in your 40's. When the 50's creep on ya you st...

Re: Things that irritate you

I really wish they'd make getting a driver's license MUCH more difficult, cull some of the more dangerous idiots off the roadways. If nothing else, I think that a regular class license should only allow you to drive (up to) a full size sedan or mid size truck or suv. Oh, I go the other way on this ...

Re: Things that inspire you

How many times can you be truly inspired? I mean, really inspired. But you can be truly irritated many times a day. Absolutely spot on! 8) I've been working on my negativity lately, though the "irritation" thread may not reflect this. One of my issues is random thoughts will con...

Re: Things that irritate you

How two assholes can screw up a small parking lot. But what tops it off is that there's an empty lot across the street. They could dig through their junk and not be in everyone's way. Ever go to home center? How many of the cars parked in the "pro parking" area are actually pros? Ever not...

Re: Things that irritate you

I'm already used to be annoyed by search engines, especially when Losi decided XXX was a good thing to name their line of cars. I'm fairly certain they did that specifically to legitimise the web searching of certain members of this forum, at least in the eyes of their co-workers and house managers...
