Re: Vulgar Display Of Power (updated pics 4/3)
Yeah!!! Pantera. "...time for Primal Concrete Sledge.@#!"   Me and my buddies got kicked out of the "Cowboys from Hell" show in, like, 1991, for smoking the wrong kind of home-rolled 'cigarettes' - we went around back and listened to some of the set th...

Re: 2019 Vintage Off-Road Nationals - R/C Excitement Inc. Fitchburg, MA Sept. 13-15
This was a cool event to attend, but I was definitely not prepared for the level of competition - folks are serious about racing at the VONats! I have to agree with RCveteran above - if the competitive aspect of this event were less, I bet there would be a lot more variety in vintage models. I was h...

Re: Currently Playing
I have not posted in this thread in quite some time, but when I saw a Ministry video posted, I had to submit an encore!! I saw Ministry at Lollapalooza 1992 in Houston, I was 19 years-old. I use to take a mouthpiece to concerts so I wouldn't get a tooth knocked out in the pit - and one helluva mosh-...

Re: RC10Talk - Celebrating 19 Years!
Hear, hear!
- I am always glad to know there are other 'normal' adults who spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about/building/running vintage R/C cars.
Thanks RC10Talk !!

Re: This is seriously creepy
Phones listen for targeted advertising. I have allegedly been known to grab a buddies phone and say keywords like "fat, weight loss, viagra, impotency, granny porn, transgendered, sex change, ect." over the next few days it is always entertaining listening to them mention the messed up ad...

Re: Bagged OEM parts organization
I recently did a massive re-organization... For years I thought I would do the peg-board system, but I just have too much stuff. I went with boxes, but carefully labeled and stored: - I labeled by brand/manufacturer for parts I do not have a ton of (i.e. Durango, Kyosho). - I labeled by brand and sp...

Re: Big Bear resto
Very Sweet!
I never owned a Big Bear, but totally remember them around when I was a kid!
- I did eventually own a Varicom Big Grizzly - although I could not keep it running very long, not a great design...

Re: ESC scrambled or poached?
Well, my Orion ESC actually does work after reverse polarity smoked the capacitors! - I just snipped off the old capacitors to give it a try, all seemed fine. - So I soldered on one of those Hobbywing non-polarity capacitors that I happen to have in my toolbox. I have run it around and all seems goo...

Re: ESC scrambled or poached?
I had emailed Tekin last week, described as best I could what happened and what the ESC was doing - they said more often than not they cannot repair reverse polarity damage... They do have an exchange program though - trade-in for a new RSX Pro is $167, plus $12.50 shipping - as well as shipping cos...

Re: Wheelbase Holes on Rear Arm Mounts
I put in some significant time today prepping one of the RC10 models I plan to take to VONats this year. The particular model I am working on, I bought as used/good condition - while taking it apart I notice the previous owner had it in the long wheelbase configuration. - My instinct was to rebuild ...

Re: Inaugural 2023 Tamiya Vintage World Classic - Thunder Alley R/C, Lucama NC - Jan 13-15
I have a couple RC10s almost ready for the track - I am not bringing a B2/B3 backup (like I ran at VONats), so hopefully I can get one of these sorted: Gold chassis: - long wheelbase, 15-degree caster blocks, and limited travel front shocks (hopefully for more on-power steering). Black chassis: - sh...
