I don't have experience with using this stuff on nylon, but i was the only thing I could get to bond an old plastic TRC Stealth antenna that was broken in two. Are you converting to the original belt setup? I personally like the chain conversion. Are those parts from a Dominator?

The servo is supposed to be taped to the front tower. It looks odd, but that's what the instructions suggest. Here's a scan I made of the original manual:
