Re: So, what did you do RC today?
What do you do when you have an A stamp chassis and transmission laying around, as well as a 10T nose and suspension?
Rounded it out with some old ECX shocks and cheap electronics from the parts box.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
I took the current team of pullers out for a comp today. Lots of bad runs, but lots learned!!! I think my Sportsman actually won its class, but not 100% as there is a rules question, so waiting on the official results. :? So nice to get back into RC competition though! Make a run, get it back...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Painted up a new body for the brushless junker truck I picked up really cheaply for AUS$40... then proceeded to throw money at!. 20240908_210023.jpg 20240908_210035.jpg Was a great base, just needed a few things: - new wheels and tyres (only came with three); - new body (got it in a lot, so no extra...

Re: Inexpensive Airbrush kit - Beginner Level
Thanks! I don't have a large box or furnace filter laying around. I could go out back and scatter the paint back there, but it's going to get to 100°F here today, really need an indoor setup. I saw a tutorial video where as guy was airbrushing a dry towel with water, to demonstrate flow and applica...

Re: A question about modern brushed motors with vintage ESCs
the caps are to prevent glitching with older radio equipment. If you are running 2.4ghz you dont need them, if you are running crystal radios you will.

Re: A question about modern brushed motors with vintage ESCs
Motor capacitors were for regulating RF interference. If you're using a 2.4GHz radio you don't need them, am/fm you do.

Re: A question about modern brushed motors with vintage ESCs
For reference, some modern motors (Tamiya, Yokomo) do have caps. The ones on the Tamiya are on a small circuit board.

Re: The Lives and Deaths of RC Companies
Its crazy but I also do remember rc10 kit prices being on the higher end but actually came down a little around the mid 90's when the B2 came out. I miss my old local hobby shack/hobby people store. I always bought all my stuff there from the 80's until they folded up. Always had deals or sales also...

Re: The Lives and Deaths of RC Companies
My RC10 Graphite listed for $325 in 1989 and sold for around $300 retail. My ne w RC10B7 was $385 in 2024. That's a 28% nominal increase, but corrected for 35 years of inflation it's a net decline. $300 in 1989 is equivalent to ~$760 today. I dig the math, but... in 1990 Graphite's with bearings we...

and the graphite finally makes an appearance
6030 graphite? They are showing the 89 car and description so it's hard to say for certain, but they don't show any other older kits- 6010, 6011, etc ..
