Re: pair of rc10gt-e conversions

You'll want to gear down for sure. You may want something like a 16 tooth with a 4300kv motor.

Re: pair of rc10gt-e conversions

if you aren't really racing, just running in the yard or street, as long as you are happy with the performance, motor temps are OK and the esc isn't getting smoking hot, then it's probably good enough. The ESC will really get hot when you are part throttle for most of a battery pack, which is where ...

Re: Cleaning 870c/YZ10 magnesium parts

the best method I have used(and will use in the future) is light glass beading. I also think the magnesium should be waxed or oiled afterwards to prevent oxidation. that I haven't really tried yet, but plan to. if you use glass beads and don't focus down tight with lots of air pressure, you won't re...

Re: RC10 CE rebuild electronics

the trackstar esc/motor is a great choice. find a lipo shorty pack in the 4300-4600mAh range for a good balance of weight, size and run time. don't use that radio, it's not for surface. You want a 2 or 3 channel radio for a stick radio or 2-4 channel for wheel/trigger radio. The gimbals on that 6 ch...

Yes you could copper plate a set of springs pretty easily. They are just slightly different rate than the associated silvers.

Re: Upside down steering servo

Servos work in any orientation, and some cars do place the servo vertically, such as the losi xx4. Nothing wrong about any servo installation from a function standpoint as long as it's secure, can travel without binding, and allows for a symmetrical range. It may not look right, and shaft down is ce...

Re: Baking soda super cures/hardens CA glue?

Yes it works as a filler. I believe having it in the mix will also create more heat from the reaction so you have to use caution on how much you use and what you put it on.

Re: Ballstuds now discontinued......

No, not exactly. You can still get b4 style with the top broached hex. They install like the originals but have no hex shoulder. It's not the end of the world from a functional standpoint but if you are doing a replica or restorations that need the hex shoulder, it's that much harder now. When those...

Re: shapeways: professional or versatile?

looking at the website and the datasheets, the professional is multi-jet (HP) technology powder, intended to be used for the HP printers. the versatile plastic is for the SLS process and the non HP printers. both materials are polyamide, aka nylon, but there are a number of formulas. their mechanica...

Re: e-GT buggy build

check fit. added small plastic stop, mounted with 1" hex standoffs, and decided on a keyhole mount in the front due to very close body clearance in this location, with a thumb nut to be added when I make it. brace was cleaned up with a file on the edges and radii to smooth out the bit of kerf l...

Re: Mike's 91 stealth build

Go for it. The one I'm building has a denim blue dye job..... How did you get the "denim blue" color? Recipe? I'd like to do a set of wheels. I bought em that way........i think the guy said denim blue is actually a rit color, so i guess that's what he used. I couldn't pass up t...
