Re: Big Bear Resurrection

It all depends what you want to do... If it is for running, I would rather suggest some Tamiya Lunchbox tires and some printed rims (I published those I printed for my Big Bear on Printables few weeks ago). And you may also find some parts to repair the rear body mounts (I see yours are shaved). My...

Re: Big Bear Resurrection

So, I got the wheels and tires disassembled, washed, mold flash trimmed from the rims, tire foams installed and all put back together. No gluing necessary, they didn't put up much of a fight. Not a fan of 3-peice rims I will say. The foams do fit and got the flattened tires sorted out nicely. A tiny...

Re: Big Bear Resurrection

Big thanks to silvertriple! Got the rear repair body posts printed and used Tamiya Frog body posts. Had to cut the thread off the Frog mounts and then cut 8-32 threads on the upper of the shaft and everything screwed together just nice, without doing any drilling on the printed repair parts. I can g...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Well, the postman looked A LOT like my brother today! He brought me my original, childhood Tamiya Blackfoot from like 1992. Original box, paperwork and all. He's been hoarding it in his basement with his RCs for quite a few years and gave it back to me today. I never really had much interest in brin...

Re: Big Bear Resurrection

It's been a minute but finally found time to sit down and finish painting the body. So, I'm gonna ask for some opinions. I don't know if I want to put on the decals (got a set or repros from MCI). Thoughts? Other than that, it's done. Stock motor with a Futaba MC210 ESC from back in the day and a ra...

Re: Big Bear Resurrection

OK, I was hesitant at first but I think you guys were right. I like it better now. Also used a silver paint pen to paint the "Datsun" lettering on the sides and grill. I'm done with it for real now.

Muh new RS4MT

Well...inebriated Ebaying strikes again! I'm not mad thought, been looking for a decent deal on one of these for a while now and although it does need a bit of attention, it's all there and in decent shape. Definitely needs tires (severely dry-rotted) and I'll probably pop for some new wheels. Body ...

I gots me sum goodies today too. Some NOS out of package factory tires for my HPI RS4MT and a pair of cheapo Amazon servos, one for the RS4MT and one for my up-n-coming OG Blackfoot refurbishment. This one is my first hobby grade, got it for Christmas when I was probably 14. Beat the snot out of it ...

Re: Muh new RS4MT

little late to the party but a mild brushless would be the max those belts will hold up to. Belts will slip and stretch under hot brushed setups but the rs4mt is a fun truck. Wish I would've paid attention the the drying up aftermarket parts on these when you could pick up stuff cheap. Mostly the h...
