The 'Family'.

I think I have a touch of OCD. What began years ago with the purchase and restoration of a JRX2 because I thought the 5 link rears were funky, turned into buying and restoring with box art bodies, every Losi buggy, touring car (Street Weapon IWCE) and truck made, from the first JRX2 until drawing th...

RC10 Team Car Redux

I had the chance to buy an RC10 Team Car that had been raced for most of it's life around 5 or so years ago. I really liked Viper bodies and wanted to do a paint job along the lines of my Gold Pan, but it turned out AWFUL. I tried to remedy the situation by plastering it with the coolest vintage dec...

Re: The 'Family'.

That is one impressive collection! 8) And you have even more that is not in the picture? This got me thinking of getting some more Losi cars... :D Yeah, The new built never run Street Weapon IWCE, the BK2 and every truck they made to the final XXT CR Graphite Plus. The XXX stuff just...

Re: RC10 Team Car Redux

Honestly, I don't see any awful mistakes. All of your cars look awesome to me. 8) So, I'm a little confused (that's common for me  ) which one needed to be wet-sanded :?: One of my best friends has the number plate 'XLR8'! It's been on Skylines, a 350Z, a 370Z and now his WRX. :D So, the seco...

Re: Turbo Mid Score

I picked up a regular Optima Mid chassis, so I could mock everything up, especially the body, before a NIP chassis I've secured arrives. Guy even traded me a set of Mid rims for some Triumph battery trays. The Penguin body, spur cover, wing and undertray arrived today, along with a NIP upper chassis...

Re: Turbo Mid Score

We're very much hoping that you're okay after the earthquake. 99% certain this is an original wing. Holes appear to be about 27mm back. Please chime in when you can and let us know how you are doing, okay? Awesome, thanks! We didn't even feel the earthquakes. The Tsunami warnings blasting out of ev...

Re: Turbo Mid Score

Made some good progress! The body is painted. I bought a NIP OTW-93 chassis, four new arms, upper chassis, servo mounts, a SWB belt, a Thorp hardened steel top gear, rear hubs and a favourite trick of mine-buying vintage Kyosho screw sets. They used all the same hardware in all their models, so I pic...

Re: Turbo Mid Score

I enjoy this thread. What motor are you using? Better be a lemans! Thanks! I'm looking for a 240ST Le Mans. I have one in my Turbo Ultima, but I think it's staying there. Marwan's amazing tires arrived, it's all mocked up, ready for the new chassis, arms and the rest of the plethora of parts I've b...

Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)

FWIW, I've owned 3 or 4 Mids and all of them were missing part OPM-9. You can see it here on page 13 of the manual. OPM-9.JPG I've never actually seen one but I think it's rubber. It's meant to seal the underside of the belt cover where the belt exits the rear gearbox - directly above the motor. Th...

Best Kyosho Score In....?

Haaa, I got lucky. Again. This has to be the best Kyosho score I've had since I bought a closed hobby store's dead stock. I'd bought a pretty rough Turbo Mid three or four weeks ago and uploaded a photo of the box to Facebook, before it sold. Someone replied "I've got one of those". "...

Re: Best Kyosho Score In....?

Think I'll sell the box, catalogue and the Optima wheels with the Dunlop tires. Anyone know what they're off. I think he might have had tape on them, or traction compund-the tread is a little sticky, but nothing some Goo Gone won't fix. As for the other Mid that slipped in, well. New Zealand is a ma...

Re: Best Kyosho Score In....?

The "new" Turbo Mid is such an origional car. Only needed a gentle wash and the shocks cleaned and topped up. Here it is, before and after a 30 hour 11 am-7am 30 hour "rebuild". I love it. My white Mid is coming along, need to solder the motor wires on, but I was exhausted. I tri...

Re: Turbo Mid Score

Some fresh photos. It baffled me why the White Mid's decals didn't sit straight, I wasn't having that! After some sectioning they're much better. The platinum shocks on the SE are brand new, factory filled with oil and not an air bubble in sight, just perfect! Expensive and a real mission to find. B...

Re: Post Pictures of your Losi Vehicles

These are 90% of my Losi buggies, the Heavy Metal body is mounted on a XX4 WE. Need to finish painting my BK2 & Junior T and do another shoot with the trucks. If anyone knows where I can get a Dodge Stratus body to replace the monstrosity on my new built IWC Street Weapon, I'd love to know... 10...
